Qatar's artists, writers, media figures and cultural leaders hailed His Highness the late Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani as the architect of the country's cultural renaissance, saying that his visionary leadership transformed culture, knowledge and creativity into essential pillars of Qatar's modern development.
Speaking to reporters, they said that HH the late Father Amir's legacy extended far beyond economic growth and infrastructure, establishing a knowledge-based society that nurtured talent, invested in creativity, and strengthened Qatar's cultural identity, while positioning the country as a leading regional and international centre for the arts and dialogue.
They noted that during HH Sheikh Hamad’s reign, Qatar witnessed an unprecedented expansion of museums, libraries, theatres, cultural institutions and artistic initiatives, reflecting his conviction that national development begins with investing in people and that culture serves as one of a nation's most influential forms of soft power.
Veteran actor Ghanem al-Sulaiti said that HH Sheikh Hamad laid the foundations upon which modern Qatar was built, transforming the country through a comprehensive vision that embraced education, culture, media, sport and economic development.

Film director Mahdi Ali credited HH Sheikh Hamad with laying the foundations of Qatar's film industry.
