His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani held a telephone conversation Thursday with US President Donald Trump during which they discussed bilateral relations and the latest regional and international developments.The two leaders discussed the close strategic partnership between Qatar and the United States and explored ways to further strengthen co-operation.The discussions also focused on diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions in the region. In this context, HH the Amir and Trump took stock of the outcomes of consultations and understandings reached between the US and Iran, which have led to progress in the ongoing negotiation process.The US president said the understandings reached had received the approval of all concerned parties, with the participation and support of several friendly countries, including Qatar. He added that efforts were continuing to complete the final procedures ahead of an announcement on arrangements for signing an agreement.HH the Amir welcomed efforts to resolve disputes through dialogue and peaceful means, reaffirming Qatar's support for initiatives aimed at strengthening regional and international security and stability and promoting peace and cooperation among countries in the region.His Highness also expressed his appreciation to President Trump for his efforts in supporting de-escalation and diplomatic engagement.HH the Amir and President Trump have remained in close contact in recent weeks amid heightened regional tensions, underlining the importance both sides attach to consultation and co-ordination during a critical period.Thursday's conversation was at least the fourth publicly announced telephone call between the two leaders since late April, following exchanges on April 24, May 23 and May 28, as well as another call on June 3, reflecting the intensity of diplomatic engagement between Doha and Washington on regional security issues.The latest discussion also highlights Qatar's long-standing foreign policy approach, which places dialogue, mediation and diplomacy at the centre of efforts to resolve conflicts and prevent escalation. Qatar has consistently advocated peaceful settlement of disputes through negotiations and has frequently served as a trusted intermediary between parties seeking common ground.The country has played key mediation roles in a number of regional and international files, while maintaining open channels of communication with all sides as part of its efforts to promote stability and security.In recent conversations with the US president, HH the Amir repeatedly stressed the need to prioritise political and diplomatic solutions, support dialogue among all parties, and avoid actions that could lead to further instability. The emphasis on negotiations with Iran is consistent with Qatar's broader position that sustainable solutions can only be achieved through engagement, mutual understanding and respect for international law.The recognition by President Trump of Qatar's support for ongoing diplomatic efforts further underscores Doha's growing role as a regional facilitator and bridge-builder, leveraging its relationships with a wide range of international actors to help create conditions conducive to dialogue, de-escalation and lasting peace. 

Morocco's foreign minister Nasser Bourita met with UK Minister of State for Business and Trade Chris Bryant, who is currently visiting Morocco.During the meeting, bilateral relations between the two countries were discussed.Bryant clarified in a press statement following the talks that the volume of trade exchanges between the two countries currently stands at about £4.5 billion, expressing hope that this figure would double over the next five to seven years.

His Excellency the PM and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani held a series of telephone calls with regional and international counterparts to discuss bilateral relations and Pakistan-led mediation efforts between the US and Iran, alongside co-ordination on broader initiatives to support regional de-escalation.The PM stressed the need for all parties to engage constructively with the ongoing mediation efforts, which would pave the way for addressing the root causes of the crisis through peaceful means and dialogue, leading to a sustainable agreement that prevents renewed escalation.In his call with Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah al-Saud, the two sides reviewed bilateral relations and discussed coordinating efforts to support the mediation aimed at de-escalation.The PM also spoke with Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Adviser of the UAE Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed al-Nahyan, with whom he discussed bilateral co-operation and stressed the importance of supporting ongoing mediation efforts to reach a lasting peace agreement.In a separate call with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nahyan, the two sides discussed co-operative relations between the two countries and ways to support and strengthen them.The PM held a call with Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation and Expatriates Badr Abdelatty, during which the two sides discussed bilateral co-operation relations and ways to further strengthen them.In his conversation with Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Abbas Araghchi, discussions focused on ongoing efforts to achieve peace and reinforce regional security and stability. The PM reaffirmed Qatar's unwavering support for efforts aimed at reaching a comprehensive agreement to end the crisis.He further emphasised that freedom of navigation remains a fundamental principle that cannot be compromised, warning that any closure of the Strait of Hormuz or attempts to use it as a means of pressure would further deepen the crisis and threaten the vital interests of countries across the region. He also underscored the importance of adhering to international law and the principles of good neighbourliness.The PM discussed bilateral relations and regional diplomatic efforts with Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan, with the talks focusing on strengthening co-operation between Doha and Ankara.He also spoke with Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom Yvette Cooper, discussing bilateral co-operation and ways to further strengthen it.The PM concluded the round of calls with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs of Jordan Ayman Safadi, exploring ways of strengthening co-operation between the two countries. 

His Excellency the Minister of State for Energy Affairs, Eng Saad bin Sherida al-Kaabi, met Thursday with the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Ekperikpe Ekpo, reports QNA. During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and co-operation between the two countries in the energy fields, as well as ways to develop them. 

His Excellency the Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed al-Kuwari met in Paris with chief executives of major French companies that are members of the Qatar-France Economic Association (Qadran), during a roundtable organised by the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the French Republic.During the meeting, discussions focused on ways to strengthen the framework of joint co-operation and further consolidate bilateral relations between the State of Qatar and the French Republic, in addition to reviewing key investment opportunities and economic developments of mutual interest.The meeting also discussed the importance of enhancing economic partnerships between both sides in a manner that supports investment growth and broadens prospects for co-operation between Qatari and French institutions.Qadran is an independent non-profit organisation established in 2015. Its membership includes leading Qatari commercial institutions operating in France, alongside major French companies operating in the State of Qatar and influential economic figures.The organisation aims to host annual academic and social events that promote dialogue and the exchange of perspectives between Qatari and French companies, providing a platform for multilateral economic discussions among senior officials and decision-makers. 

His Excellency the Chairman of the Qatar Media Corporation (QMC), Sheikh Hamad bin Thamer al-Thani, met Wednesday with Pakistani ambassador to Qatar, Muhammad Aamer. The meeting discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations in the media sector.  

His Excellency Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani Monday held a telephone conversation with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Farhan bin Abdullah al-Saud.The two sides touched on bilateral relations and ways to support and strengthen them. They also discussed developments in the region, particularly those related to the ceasefire between the United States and Iran and efforts aimed at de-escalation to enhance security and stability in the region.The prime minister stressed the need for all parties to engage with the ongoing mediation efforts in a way that paves the way for addressing the root causes of the crisis via dialogue and peaceful means, through to reaching a sustainable agreement that prevents re-ignition of the crisis.The prime minister also received a phone call from Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs Badr Abdelaaty.The two sides touched on bilateral relations and ways to support and strengthen them. They also discussed developments in the region, particularly those related to the ceasefire between the US and Iran, and efforts aimed at de-escalation to enhance security and stability in the region.The prime minister underscored the need for all parties to engage with the ongoing mediation efforts to pave the way for addressing the root causes of the crisis through peaceful means and dialogue. 

His Excellency Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah al-Ghanim met Wednesday with ambassador of Canada to Qatar Karim Morcos. During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them, particularly in the parliamentary field. The two sides also discussed the latest developments in the region. HE the Speaker stressed the gravity of Iran's attacks against Qatar and neighbouring countries, and the threat they pose to the region's security and stability. He emphasized the necessity of halting escalation and resorting to peaceful solutions and dialogue. In this context, al-Ghanim expressed his appreciation for Canada's supportive stance towards the State of Qatar and its condemnation of these attacks, which reflects a commitment to the principles of international law and support for international peace and security. For his part, the Canadian ambassador expressed his gratitude for the level of bilateral relations, affirming his country's keenness to develop them and enhance joint co-operation in various fields, including strategic dialogue and parliamentary coordination. At the same time, Morcos highlighted Canada's supportive stance towards Qatar, and its keenness to communicate and coordinate at high levels, reflecting the country's solidarity and commitment to supporting the security and stability of the region. 

Cote d'Ivoire’s Prime Minister Robert Beugre Mambe has met Qatar’s ambassador to the country Mubarak bin Hussein al-Marri. During their meeting, both sides reviewed bilateral relations and discussed ways to enhance co-operation between Qatar and Cote d'Ivoire.  

His Excellency Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad al-Muraikhi met Wednesday with Portuguese ambassador to Qatar Paulo Neves Pocinho, on the end of his tenure. HE the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs thanked the ambassador for his efforts in supporting and strengthening bilateral relations, wishing him success in his new duties. 

Vice President of Tanzania Emmanuel John Nchimbi met Saturday with Qatar's ambassador to Tanzania Fahad Rashid al-Muraikhi. The meeting discussed bilateral relations.  

A delegation from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in the Philippines has returned to Doha with renewed optimism, seeking to strengthen trade ties with Qatar in the food and personal care sectors.Led by Bianca Pearl R Sykimte, director of the DTI’s Export Marketing Bureau (DTI-EMB), the delegation met with Qatar Chamber Monday as part of the DTI-EMB’s Outbound Business Matching Mission (OBMM) in the GCC.The delegation, who was accompanied by Philippine ambassador Mardomel Celo D Melicor and First Secretary and Consul General Cassandra B Sawadjaan, was received by Qatar Chamber first vice-chairman Mohammed bin Towar al-Kuwari, in the presence of other officials and Qatari businessmen.Speaking at the meeting, Melicor lauded the chamber’s role in fostering commercial linkages and highlighted the momentum in bilateral relations. The ambassador emphasised that the Philippines views Qatar as “a valued partner in the Gulf,” with recent years marked by landmark agreements and historic engagements, particularly during the state visit of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani to the Philippines in 2024.Melicor also pointed to the success of the first ‘Qatar-Philippines Business Forum’ held in November 2025 and the earlier OBMM in February 2025, “which delivered the highest trade engagement among Gulf destinations.” The ambassador said, “The message is clear, opportunities are here, and real, they are growing.”This year’s OBMM, according to Melicor, opens avenues for networking and access to global markets to leading companies specialising in food and personal care products to Qatar.“Our objective is straightforward: to transform interest into lasting commercial partnerships. We hope to see more Filipino products reach Qatari shelves and households,” Melicor pointed out.He emphasised that these enterprises embody the quality, creativity, and reliability of Philippine manufacturing, and underscored the potential for collaboration beyond consumer goods, including agriculture, food security, renewable energy, healthcare, and digital transformation.For his part, al-Kuwari emphasised the distinguished relations between Qatar and the Philippines, noting that the volume of trade exchange reached nearly QR674mn in 2024, reflecting the steady growth of bilateral economic ties.He said Qatar Chamber views the Philippines as a key economic partner in Southeast Asia and commended the active contributions of the Filipino community to Qatar’s development.Al-Kuwari affirmed the chamber’s commitment to enhancing co-operation between the business communities of both countries and opening new horizons for joint investments that serve mutual interests.He also called on Qatari and Filipino companies to explore partnership opportunities for joint projects across various sectors, particularly in food security and personal care products.Sykimte delivered a presentation highlighting investment opportunities, the business climate, and key Philippine food products targeted for the Qatari market, while a representative from Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health gave an overview of the food hygiene sector and the rigorous food safety verification processes required for imports.
