His Excellency Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani met Saturday with Egypt's Foreign Minister Dr Badr Abdelatty, who was visiting Doha.
They discussed bilateral relations and ways to strengthen them, as well as the latest regional developments, particularly diplomatic efforts and joint co-ordination to de-escalate tensions and enhance security and stability in the region.
The prime minister stressed the need for all parties to commit to dialogue and diplomacy, and to implement what was agreed upon within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between the United States and Iran, including ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, to maintain regional security, preserve the gains achieved, and enhance regional stability.
He reiterated Qatar's full support for all efforts aimed at defusing tensions and reaching a comprehensive agreement that achieves lasting peace in the region.
