His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani received a phone call from US President Donald Trump. They discussed the latest updates in the Middle East, in light of the political and security developments taking place in the region, along with the regional and international efforts aimed at reducing escalation and enhancing stability. The Amir stressed the need to prioritise political and diplomatic solutions and dialogue between all parties in order to consolidate regional security and stability and spare the region further tension and escalation.The US president voiced his appreciation for Qatar’s role in supporting Pakistani mediation efforts and strengthening communication channels between the various parties. He also commended Qatar’s endeavour aimed at bringing viewpoints closer and advancing de-escalation efforts in the region. Yesterday’s call was the latest in a series of direct contacts between the two leaders in recent weeks, reflecting the growing importance Washington attaches to Doha’s mediation role at a critical juncture for regional security. Qatar has consistently maintained that dialogue and diplomacy represent the only viable path to resolving the region’s overlapping crises, a position His Highness the Amir has reaffirmed in successive engagements with world leaders. Doha has played a central back-channel role in ongoing efforts to broker a diplomatic resolution to tensions over Iran’s nuclear programme, leveraging its long-standing ties with all parties to keep lines of communication open. The call also addressed the close strategic relations between Qatar and the US, along with ways to enhance bilateral co-operation in various fields, in order to serve the common interests of the two friendly countries. 

 HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani held a phone call yesterday with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.They discussed the latest developments in the region as well as efforts aimed at de-escalation, safeguarding regional security, and promoting peace and stability.HH the Amir reaffirmed Qatar's firm position in favour of political and diplomatic solutions and stressed the need for all parties to exercise the utmost responsibility and restraint to spare the region the consequences of further escalation. His Highness also expressed appreciation to the president for the Iranian government's engagement in dialogue and constructive efforts.His Highness also emphasised the importance of peaceful solutions to contain tensions and safeguard regional security and stability, thanking Pezeshkian for his efforts in that regard and calling for continued positive engagement in the negotiations being facilitated by Pakistan as well as for broader dialogue, particularly with countries in the region.The Iranian president praised HH the Amir's efforts to promote security and stability in the region, expressing his appreciation for His Highness's positions supporting de-escalation, and affirming his welcome and interest in His Highness's proposals on advancing an agreement that would promote regional and international stability.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani discussed with Rwandan President Paul Kagame bilateral relations and ways to enhance them during a meeting held Sunday at the Amiri Diwan. At the outset of the meeting, HH the Amir welcomed the Rwandan president, commending the strong relations between Qatar and Rwanda in various fields that serve the common interests of the two countries.  Kagame extended his thanks and expressed his appreciation to HH the Amir for the warm welcome and generous hospitality, stressing his country's keenness to develop and strengthen friendly relations with Qatar in many fields.  HH the Amir and the Rwandan president discussed the latest regional and international developments, in addition to ways to enhance international peace and security. **media[449486]**A number of Their Excellencies ministers and senior officials attended the meeting. On the Rwandan side, a number of Their Excellencies members of the official delegation attended the meeting.  Earlier Kagame and the accompanying delegation were welcomed upon their arrival at Doha International Airport by His Excellency Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh al-Khulaifi and Rwandan ambassador to Qatar Igor Marara Kayinamura.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani has received the credentials of new ambassadors to Qatar. He received the credentials of Aibek Toktobolotov (Kyrgyz Republic) and Ana Filomena da Costa Rocha (Portugal) at his office at the Amiri Diwan Tuesday.  His Highness the Amir welcomed the new ambassadors and wished them success in their missions, as well as further development and growth in the relations between Qatar and their respective countries.  The envoys conveyed the greetings of the leaders of their countries and their wishes to the Qatari people for enduring progress and prosperity. They were accorded official reception ceremonies upon arrival at the Amiri Diwan.

His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani received today at his office in Lusail Palace Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the brotherly Republic of Turkiye. During the meeting, the strategic cooperation relations between the two brotherly countries were reviewed, along with ways to support and strengthen them. The developments in the region were also discussed, particularly those related to the ceasefire between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as the efforts made to reduce escalation and consolidate the principle of a diplomatic solution in a way that contributes to strengthening international security and stability.

His Highness The Deputy Amir and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Qatar University, Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani, chaired the fourth meeting of the Board of Trustees for the 2025-2026 academic year, held this morning at the Amiri Diwan. At the beginning of the meeting, the Board reviewed the implementation of the decisions and recommendations from the third meeting of the 2025-2026 academic year, discussed the items on the agenda, and made the appropriate decisions. The Board also approved a proposal to amend the admission quotas at Qatar University, effective Fall 2027, and endorsed a proposal to restructure the Bachelor of Education program in general education.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani hosted a luncheon at Lusail Palace Sunday to honour Al Gharafa Sports Club, the 2026 Amir Cup champions, and runners-up Al Sadd SC. The banquet celebrated the winning players, coaching, and management staff, along with a lineup of sports and media personalities and representatives of the tournament's sponsors.His Highness Personal Representative of the Amir, Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa al-Thani; and His Excellency President of the Qatar Olympic Committee and the Olympic Council of Asia, Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al-Thani attended the luncheon.
