His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani discussed with Rwandan President Paul Kagame bilateral relations and ways to enhance them during a meeting held Sunday at the Amiri Diwan. At the outset of the meeting, HH the Amir welcomed the Rwandan president, commending the strong relations between Qatar and Rwanda in various fields that serve the common interests of the two countries.
Kagame extended his thanks and expressed his appreciation to HH the Amir for the warm welcome and generous hospitality, stressing his country's keenness to develop and strengthen friendly relations with Qatar in many fields.
HH the Amir and the Rwandan president discussed the latest regional and international developments, in addition to ways to enhance international peace and security.
A number of Their Excellencies ministers and senior officials attended the meeting. On the Rwandan side, a number of Their Excellencies members of the official delegation attended the meeting.
Earlier Kagame and the accompanying delegation were welcomed upon their arrival at Doha International Airport by His Excellency Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh al-Khulaifi and Rwandan ambassador to Qatar Igor Marara Kayinamura.
