Qatar, Saudi vow to reinforce fraternal ties

ighness the Amir and his accompanying delegation.

Qatar, Switzerland hold second round of political consultations

Qatar and Switzerland Monday held a new round of political consultations in Doha, aimed at strengthening bilateral co-operation. The meeting was chaired by His Excellency the Director of the European Affairs Department at Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Fahad bin Mohammed Kafoud. The Swiss delegation was led by ambassador Monika Schmutz Kirgoz, Assistant Foreign Minister for Middle East and North Africa Affairs. Officials discussed bilateral relations and explored ways to deepen co-operation across shared areas of interest. The talks form part of an ongoing dialogue intended to develop ties and co-ordinate positions on regional and international issues.

His Highness the Amir honours Bulgarian envoy

 His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani met Sunday at his Amiri Diwan office with Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Qatar Plamen Stankov Delev, who called on HH the Amir to greet him on the occasion of the end of his tenure in the country. His Highness the Amir granted the Al Wajbah Decoration to the ambassador in recognition of his role in enhancing bilateral relations between Qatar and Bulgaria, wishing him success in his future missions and further development and progress for the relations between the two countries. The ambassador expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Amir and to the state officials for the cooperation he received that contributed to the success of his work in the country.

Sheikh Faisal meets Russia's minister of economic development

His Excellency Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal al-Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Sunday met with Maxim Reshetnikov, Minister of Economic Development of Russia, who is currently visiting Qatar. The two sides discussed ways to deepen bilateral cooperation in the trade, investment and industrial sectors, as well as ways to further develop the ties. Qatar highlighted its economic policies supporting the private sector, in addition to the country’s pro-investment legislation, incentives and expanding opportunities offered to attract investors and business leaders to the Qatari market.

Egyptian, Turkish Foreign Ministers discuss Gaza developments and bilateral relations

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan discussed developments in the Gaza Strip, as well as ways to enhance bilateral relations, during their meeting on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa.The two ministers emphasised the importance of implementing the latest United Nations Security Council resolution on the Gaza Strip and enabling the International Stabilisation Force to carry out its duties.The meeting also reviewed Egypt's efforts to consolidate the Sharm El-Sheikh peace agreement and to support the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip. In addition, the ministers discussed a number of regional issues of mutual interest, ways to implement the outcomes of the recent Joint Planning Group meeting held in Ankara, Turkiye, and preparations for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's visit to Cairo to chair the second meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council, scheduled for 2026.

Qatar Chamber explores co-operation with Portuguese Industrial Association

Qatar Chamber acting director general Ali Bu Sherbak al-Mansouri held a meeting Sunday with Filomena Pina Pires, director of the Portuguese Industrial Association (AIP), and Manul Campos, AIP Project Partner. The meeting discussed bilateral trade and economic relations between Qatar and Portugal and ways to further develop them.It also addressed potential co-operation between the Qatar Chamber and AIP, including co-ordination to sign an agreement to strengthen ties between the business communities of both countries and enhance the role of the Qatari and Portuguese private sectors.Al-Mansouri praised the strong relations between the two countries, particularly in the commercial and economic fields. He noted that bilateral trade between Qatar and Portugal reached QR441mn in 2024, stressing the chamber’s commitment to deepening trade relations with Portugal and expanding partnerships between Qatari companies and their Portuguese counterparts.Pires affirmed the interest of Portuguese business owners in exploring available investment opportunities in Qatar and establishing partnerships with Qatari businessmen and investors, whether in Qatar or Portugal, across various sectors, including industry, trade, construction, agriculture, transport, and communications.She invited private sector companies in Qatar to visit Portugal and learn more about the opportunities available there. She added that the visit aims to enhance co-operation and co-ordination with the Qatar Chamber in organising joint business events and meetings targeting Qatari and Portuguese companies, as well as hosting trade fairs to showcase the products and services of the private sectors in both countries.Pires also noted that the Portuguese Industrial Association is the largest business association in Portugal, functioning also as a chamber of commerce and industry.

HH the Amir, Rwanda president vow to cement ties

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and President of the friendly Republic of Rwanda Paul Kagame discussed bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and ways to strengthen and develop them in various fields.The meeting also dealt with discussing regional and international issues of joint interest.This came during the bilateral meeting held at the headquarters of the president at the Eastern province of Rwanda in Bugesera. His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani arrived Thursday in Kigali, on an official visit to the Republic of Rwanda.His Highness the Amir was welcomed upon arrival to Kigali International Airport by President of the Republic of Rwanda Paul Kagame.Also present to welcome His Highness the Amir was Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation Olivier Nduhungirehe, Chief of Defence Staff General Mubarakh Muganga, Mayor of the City of Kigali Samuel Dusengiyumvam, ambassador of Rwanda to Qatar Igor Marara Kayinamura, a number of senior officials, and members of Qatar’s Embassy.**media[384342]**His Highness the Amir is accompanied by an official delegation. Relations between Qatar and Rwanda have been marked by rapid growth and a strategic partnership spanning various fields. Over the past years, the two nations have succeeded in building a solid foundation of co-operation in the areas of economy, investment, education, tourism, aviation, security, and anti-corruption, making Rwanda a key partner in Qatar’s outreach to the African continent.The mutual visits exchanged between the leadership of both countries reflect their shared commitment to strengthening dialogue, expanding investment opportunities, and achieving sustainable development. This contributes to supporting regional stability and creating new horizons for bilateral co-operation.The visit of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani to the Rwandan capital, Kigali, to meet with President Paul Kagame comes within the framework of strengthening the close relations between the two nations and reaffirming the mutual commitment to enhancing the foundations of sustainable investment and expanding its prospects in a way that serves their common goals.
