He described it as a practical embodiment of the bonds of brotherhood, shared history, and noble humanitarian values, rooted in co-operation, solidarity, and service to humanity, that unite them.

He added that the occasion holds strategic significance in the organisation’s journey and the new office is the 35th in the organisation’s global network.

This milestone, HE Sheikh Hamad continued, is ingrained in the belief that the most impactful humanitarian work is that which remains close to communities and operates alongside national institutions, in alignment with the host country’s national strategies.

For her part, Dr Mursi said that the inauguration of the QC office in Egypt represents a new step that opens up broader horizons for institutional, humanitarian, and developmental co-operation between the two fraternal nations, adding to the ongoing co-operation between them.

He noted that relations between Qatar and Egypt are based on close historical and people-to-people ties, as well as a shared will to enhance co-operation across various fields in a manner that serves the interests of both countries and their peoples.

Sheikh Jassim pointed out that Qatar Charity through its expertise, programmes and projects endeavours to support and implement initiatives that contribute to improving living conditions, supporting different sectors to empower the most vulnerable groups.

He emphasised Qatar’s belief in the importance of responsible humanitarian work, noting that its partnerships represent the optimal way to ensure aid and projects reach their intended beneficiaries and achieve the greatest possible impact.

He said Qatar looks forward to making the office a pivot of co-operation between Qatari and Egyptian institutions in the humanitarian and development sectors.

The ceremony featured an introductory film about Qatar Charity, showcasing aspects of its mission, efforts, and initiatives, as well as the humanitarian and developmental presence it maintains in the various communities where it operates.
