Alfardan Automobiles, the official importer for BMW in Qatar, has introduced the new BMW 7 Series in Doha following its regional premiere, bringing the brand’s flagship luxury sedan to the Qatari market with a focus on progressive design, advanced technology and refined comfort.
The latest evolution of the BMW 7 Series combines a commanding, monolithic presence with intelligent digital features and carefully crafted details. Now in its seventh generation, the flagship sedan continues BMW’s nearly five-decade tradition of innovation while combining driving comfort with the engagement expected of the brand.
“Introducing the new BMW 7 Series in Qatar is a proud moment for Alfardan Automobiles and an important milestone in our long-standing partnership with BMW Group,” said Ayman Berjawi, general manager, BMW – Alfardan Automobiles. “Customers in Qatar have a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, innovation and personalised luxury, qualities that have defined the 7 Series for nearly five decades. This new generation brings them together in a flagship experience that feels both progressive and unmistakably BMW.”
Since its debut in 1977, the BMW 7 Series has introduced technologies and concepts that have influenced the luxury-car segment, from safety systems and new operating concepts to increasingly sophisticated digital features. BMW says the latest model represents the most extensive update ever carried out by the BMW Group and serves as a technology leader, introducing Neue Klasse innovations into existing models.
Distinctive luxury design
The new 7 Series introduces BMW’s latest luxury-class design language, featuring a monolithic exterior, the new illuminated BMW Iconic Glow kidney grille and minimalist crystal headlights. Reduced surfaces, a defined character line and refined detailing shape the side profile, while redesigned rear lights create a clean, contemporary appearance.
Customers can further personalise the sedan through BMW Individual, with 130 paint colours, 12 upholstery variants and more than 500 two-tone colour combinations. A new Dual-Finish paint concept is a world first for BMW, combining a matt lower body with a manually applied metallic upper finish and a hand-drawn coachline.
The process takes more than 75 hours and involves more than 20 specially trained employees at BMW Group Plant Dingolfing. Each vehicle undergoes 12 painting stages, with extensive manual preparation and finishing.
A high-tech interior
Inside, the new 7 Series combines leather, cloth, wood, crystal glass and metal with modern technology to create a luxurious passenger environment. Key features include the new BMW Panoramic iDrive with BMW Operating System X and the debut of the BMW Passenger Screen.
Rear passengers can also access the optional BMW Theatre Screen, supporting 8K streaming, gaming and video calls. A new ambient-light concept, Bowers & Wilkins sound system with Dolby Atmos, panoramic glass sunroof, four-zone automatic climate control and the Travel & Comfort System add to the comfort-focused cabin.
The sedan also features upgraded seats, including optional Executive Lounge seating, automatic doors and a digital interior mirror.
BMW Panoramic iDrive is supported by intelligent voice control through the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, including Amazon Alexa+ AI technology. Other digital features include improved BMW Maps navigation, smartphone integration, BMW Digital Key Plus, digital M content and regular over-the-air software updates.
Multiple powertrain options
The new BMW 7 Series is available with combustion engines featuring 48V mild-hybrid technology, plug-in hybrid systems and fully electric variants. The electric models use sixth-generation BMW eDrive technology with innovative cylindrical cells, delivering an electric range of more than 720km under the WLTP cycle.
BMW also highlights intelligent charging solutions, charging-optimised route planning and adaptive recuperation.
Driving dynamics and safety
The 7 Series continues to combine luxury-sedan comfort with BMW driving dynamics. Standard adaptive two-axle air suspension with electronically controlled shock absorbers supports both ride comfort and handling.
Optional chassis technologies include Integral Active Steering, Adaptive Chassis Control Professional, and roll stabilisation, while M Sport packages and three M Performance models add sporting character.
Advanced driver-assistance systems incorporate artificial intelligence and BMW Symbiotic Drive. Standard Park Assist and AI-supported parking-space detection and manoeuvre planning simplify parking, while additional systems support partially automated driving.
BMW 7 Series Protection
For customers requiring enhanced security, the BMW 7 Series Protection combines luxury with high levels of ballistic and explosive protection. It features the BMW Protection Core, multi-layer armouring using steel, special alloys, composite materials and bulletproof glass. The vehicle has VR9 certification, with VPAM 10 classification available as an option.
A new special-protection version based on the latest 7 Series is currently in the final stages of development.
Sustainability and production
BMW says it has incorporated sustainability throughout the new 7 Series life cycle, from resource-efficient development and manufacturing to the use phase. The BMW i7 benefits from secondary materials, renewable energy, sixth-generation battery technology and wheels containing high levels of recycled material.
All variants of the new 7 Series are produced on a single line at BMW Group Plant Dingolfing in Lower Bavaria, which also serves as a lead plant for the rollout of Neue Klasse technologies into BMW’s luxury models.
