Qatar Chamber and a Malaysian delegation held a meeting Wednesday to discuss ways to enhance trade and economic ties between Qatar and Malaysia.
The delegation was led by Dr Hajj Mohamed bin Ali Mohamed Rustam, governor of Malacca State, who was received by Qatar Chamber board members Dr Mohamed bin Jawhar al-Mohamed and Abdulrahman bin Abduljaleel al-Abdulghani.
During the meeting, which was attended by Malaysian ambassador Mohamed Faizal Razali, both parties also discussed investment opportunities for collaboration between Qatari and Malaysian business owners across various sectors.
Rustam said the state offers numerous investment opportunities in various sectors, including tourism, halal industries, and healthcare.
He called on Qatar Chamber and Qatari companies to participate in the MIHAS Halal Expo, scheduled to take place on September 23-26, with the participation of several leading Malaysian and international companies.
For his part, al-Mohamed emphasised Qatar Chamber’s keenness to strengthen cooperation between Qatari and Malaysian investors, noting the significance of the Joint Business Council in developing ties between the business communities of both countries.
Al-Abdulghani said Qatar and Malaysia enjoy close relations, stressing the private sector’s role in developing these relations and taking them to broader horizons. He also noted there are significant opportunities for cooperation between both countries’ private sectors across various areas, including the halal industry, which offers tremendous potential and numerous opportunities.
