Al Ahli and Lusail SC shared the points in a dramatic 3-3 draw in the second round of the Qatar Stars League at Al Thumama Stadium on Friday, with Rodrigo Moreno scoring a stoppage-time equaliser in an entertaining six-goal encounter.
Julian Draxler gave Al Ahli an early lead from the penalty spot in the seventh minute after Lusail's Erik Exposito was penalised for a handball following a VAR review.
Lusail responded quickly, with Rodrigo Moreno converting from the spot in the 12th minute after Al Ahli's Benjamin Bourigeaud was penalised for handball.
The visitors then completed the turnaround just before half-time. Naif Al Hadhrami won possession in midfield and released Farhad Ismaeil with a superb pass, allowing him to finish and put Lusail 2-1 ahead.
Al Ahli restored parity six minutes after the restart when Ismail Mohammed found the net in the 51st minute.
Draxler then struck again from the penalty spot in the 63rd minute after Mohammed Ayash was penalised for handball, putting Al Ahli back in front.
Lusail refused to give up and were rewarded deep into stoppage time when Rodrigo scored his second of the night in the fourth minute of added time to secure a 3-3 draw.
The result gave both teams their first points of the season.
