The Qatar Living Negombians Community marked a significant milestone with the successful conclusion of its Inaugural General Meeting for 2026/2027, held on August 21 at Mr Grill Restaurant, Bin Mahmoud. The meeting was hosted by Shiham, with a large number of Qatar Living Negombians in attendance. The event brought together community members to discuss the purpose and importance of community, reflect on past activities, consider the organisation's future direction, and strengthen unity and cooperation among Negombians living in Qatar.
The meeting began with a Qur’an recitation delivered by Ash Sheikh Azeem Moulavi, setting a respectful and meaningful tone for the evening. In his speech, Ash Sheikh Najeem Moulavi highlighted the importance and purpose of establishing and maintaining a community. He emphasised the significance of unity, maintaining good relationships, supporting one another, resolving differences peacefully, and working together for the benefit of the entire Negombian community.
As part of the general meeting, treasurer Jeeshan presented a brief financial summary of the recent community gathering and tournament. Following the financial presentation, the current president, Ash Sheikh Shabeeb Moulavi, addressed the gathering and spoke about the reasons for establishing the Qatar Living Negombians Community and the importance of having a united community. He highlighted the need to bring Negombians together, support one another, strengthen relationships, and create a platform where members can work collectively for the community's benefit and development.
One of the key highlights of the evening was the formal approval of the existing Temporary Executive Committee to continue serving the community for the 2026/2027 period. Following the discussions and proceedings, the General Members approved the committee to continue in office until the next Annual General Meeting (AGM). The committee will continue to lead the community’s activities while working toward greater unity, cooperation, and service among Negombians living in Qatar.
The meeting concluded with a collective commitment from the members to continue supporting and strengthening the Qatar Living Negombians Community without allowing unnecessary issues or differences to affect its progress. Members made an oath to work together, maintain unity, cooperate, and coordinate with Qatar Living Negombians across the community.
The formal proceedings were followed by a closing ceremony and dinner, providing members with an opportunity to socialise, strengthen friendships, and celebrate the successful beginning of the new community year. The Inaugural General Meeting of the Qatar Living Negombians for 2026/2027 concluded on a positive note, with members united around a common vision for a stronger, more cooperative, and more closely connected community. The gathering marked the beginning of a new chapter based on unity, transparency, cooperation, mutual respect, and collective responsibility.
