His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani held separate phone calls with his Saudi and Egyptian counterparts to discuss regional developments and diplomatic efforts to bolster security and stability in the wake of the memorandum of understanding signed between the United States and Iran.
In a call with Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah al-Saud, and a separate call received from Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation and Egyptians Abroad Badr Abdelatty, the PM reviewed bilateral co-operation and ways to strengthen it, alongside an exchange of views on the latest regional developments.
In both calls, the PM stressed the importance of sparing the region the consequences of unjustified attacks, ensuring freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, continuing on the path of dialogue and diplomacy, reducing tensions, and building on the gains achieved under the memorandum of understanding to reinforce regional and international peace and security.
He reaffirmed Qatar's full support for the ongoing negotiations between the United States and Iran to reach sustainable solutions to outstanding issues through dialogue and peaceful means — strengthening regional security, opening new horizons for co-operation, development and prosperity, and serving the common interests of the peoples of the region and the world.
