Jordan's 'relations with Qatar robust, longstanding'

Jordan and Qatar have robust and longstanding relations, a senior Jordanian official has said.Speaking to the Qatar News Agency (QNA), Jordan’s Minister of Government Communication Dr Mohammad Momani said that both countries are keen to further develop bilateral relations and strengthen co-operation across various fields in ways that serve the interests of both peoples.His remarks coincide with Jordan's 80th Independence Day, marked annually on May 25.Dr Momani said that Jordan has remained committed since its independence to supporting just Arab causes, primarily the Palestinian cause, and safeguarding Islamic and Christian holy sites in occupied Jerusalem.He added that the Independence Day represents resilience and continuity despite regional challenges, noting that the country has strengthened its constitutional and democratic institutions while pursuing ongoing reform and modernisation efforts focused on citizens' welfare.

HH the Amir, Kagame seek stronger ties

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani discussed with Rwandan President Paul Kagame bilateral relations and ways to enhance them during a meeting held Sunday at the Amiri Diwan. At the outset of the meeting, HH the Amir welcomed the Rwandan president, commending the strong relations between Qatar and Rwanda in various fields that serve the common interests of the two countries.  Kagame extended his thanks and expressed his appreciation to HH the Amir for the warm welcome and generous hospitality, stressing his country's keenness to develop and strengthen friendly relations with Qatar in many fields.  HH the Amir and the Rwandan president discussed the latest regional and international developments, in addition to ways to enhance international peace and security. **media[449486]**A number of Their Excellencies ministers and senior officials attended the meeting. On the Rwandan side, a number of Their Excellencies members of the official delegation attended the meeting.  Earlier Kagame and the accompanying delegation were welcomed upon their arrival at Doha International Airport by His Excellency Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh al-Khulaifi and Rwandan ambassador to Qatar Igor Marara Kayinamura.

Transport minister meets Saudi counterpart

HE Minister of Transport Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulla bin Mohammed al-Thani met with Minister of Transport and Logistic Services of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Eng Saleh bin Nasser al-Jasser Thursday.The two ministers discussed aspects of bilateral co-operation in transportation, and ways to propel them to new heights, particularly in logistic services that support that vital industry.They also discussed the common opportunities that can be utilized by the two countries thanks to their unique geographical locations, thereby enhancing their leading regional and international positions in sustainable transportation.The meeting was attended by HE the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport Mohammed Abdullah al-Maadeed, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the State of Qatar Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan al-Saud, Vice-Minister of Transport and Logistic Services of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Dr Rumaih bin Mohammed al-Rumaih, and several other officials from both sides.
