All roads led to the Mina Park at the Old Doha Port over the weekend as the Qatar Kite Festival 2026 bespeckled the winter skies with colour and creativity.
Running from January 15-24, the festival has quickly become one of the season’s most anticipated attractions, drawing families, tourists, and kite enthusiasts alike.
The event offers free entry and features a packed programme of day and night kite displays, with international teams performing synchronised aerial shows against the backdrop of the city’s skyline.
Visitors can expect themed kites of every shape and size, cultural stage performances, carnival parades, and a festive atmosphere that stretches across the park.
Children are at the heart of the celebration, with dedicated play zones, kite-making workshops, and giveaways ensuring plenty of hands-on fun. Food and beverage outlets line the venue, making it easy for families to spend the entire day enjoying the spectacle.
Festival timings run from 3pm-10pm on weekdays and from 10am-10pm on weekends, giving ample opportunity for residents and visitors to experience the magic of the skies.
