The Ministry of Labour hosted Sunday the second GCC meeting to develop the social protection system in the GCC countries.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Labour, the Executive Office of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states and the International Labour Organization (ILO). It discussed proposals for reforming social protection systems in preparation for submitting them to the GCC labour ministers at their next meeting to be held in the third quarter of this year. The meeting introduced the participants to the Arab and international experiences in the field of expanding the scope of social protection systems for workers.
