DPS Modern Indian School's silver jubilee celebrations witnessed the creation of a monumental mosaic artwork spanning 2,500sft and crafted by 2,500 students, celebrating Indo-Qatar friendship.The collaborative initiative ‘Silver Synergy’ earned recognition from the India Book of Records, and Asia Book of Records, while awaiting Guinness World Records decision.**media[395142]**Inspired by Qatar National Vision 2030 and a commitment to sustainability, the school repurposed cardboard cartons into individual panels. Guided by their art teachers, students from grades I-X painted each panel.The youngest artists, 212 Kindergarten students contributed hand prints.In the final stage, teachers and staff assembled the 2,500 painted panels on the basketball court, each square reflecting a story, a dream, and a fragment of the school’s spirit. 

Ideal Indian School Gavel Club member Afrin Salma (Grade XII) topped the inspirational speech category of The Qatar Talk 2025 interschool speech competition.Her prizes included a trophy and cash prize of QR3,000. Indian ambassador Vipul presented the trophy. Joyal, Mohammad Mustafa S (both Grade XII) and Samridhi Panwar (Grade IX) were the other contestants from the school. Principal Shaik Shamim Saheb, Gavel Club counsellor Sajid Shamim, and teacher In-charge Anwar Sadath congratulated Afrin Salma and commended the other participants from the school.

The management and students of The Next Generation (TNG) School, Al Daayen Campus, have partnered with the embassy of Pakistan in Doha to promote environmental protection and awareness.Deputy head of mission Atiya Iqbal and community welfare attaché Osama Idrees visited TNG as part of the embassy’s “Green Drive” initiative, a tree-planting and environmental awareness campaign in Qatar, organised in recognition of Qatar National Day (QND).During the visit, TNG Al Daayen’s Student Council members and participants of the British Council’s “Your World Competition” presented their research and projects on environmental sustainability.Students highlighted the inspiration behind their work, the innovative solutions they proposed, and the impact they aim to create.The session featured a detailed and interactive discussion with the embassy representatives, where students asked questions and explored solutions to sustainability challenges, such as digital responsibility, food waste management, and plastic reduction.Senior students, along with the wider Student Council body, attended the event to observe and take forward these discussions across the student community.Their involvement aims to inspire peers and further strengthen a culture of environmental responsibility within the campus.Iqbal lauded the students for their passion, confidence, and clarity of vision.The event concluded with a tree planting activity led by the Pakistan embassy officials within the school premises. 

Athwif Abdulla (Grade XI G) of MES Indian School represented the Central Board of Secondary Education in the 69th National School Games in athletics under-19 category, from November 26 to 30, in Haryana, under the aegis of the School Games Federation of India. Competing in 100m, he was awarded the 'High Priority Certificate', an honour officially endorsed by the Government of India, reserved for athletes demonstrating excellence and sportsmanship at the national level. He was coached by Steeson K Mathew.

315 pupils and staff thought to have been taken on FridayAttack is one of worst mass kidnappings in NigeriaMore than 300 children and staff are thought to have been abducted from a Catholic school in Nigeria this week, one of the worst mass kidnappings ever recorded there. The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) said Saturday it had raised its estimate of those taken from St Mary's School in Niger state on Friday to 315 from an earlier estimate of 227 following a "verification exercise". "This now makes it 303 students (and) ... 12 teachers, bringing the total number of abducted persons to 315," it said in a statement, adding the new figure included 88 students who had been captured as they tried to escape.The kidnapping comes amid a surge of attacks by armed groups and insurgents in Nigeria, which has been under heightened scrutiny since US President Donald Trump threatened military action this month over the treatment of Christians.If confirmed, the revised number of people taken at the school would exceed the 276 schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram militants in Chibok in 2014. The Niger state government said on Friday the school had ignored an instruction that boarding schools should be closed because of intelligence indicating a high chance of attacks.But Reverend Bulus Dauwa Yohanna, the CAN chairman in Niger, said no such warning had been issued after travelling to the school on Friday night. "We are working with the government and security agencies to see that our children are rescued and brought back safely," he said in the CAN statement. The central government has ordered nearly 50 federal colleges to close and public schools in some states have also been shut.Friday's mass kidnapping was the third such incident in Nigeria this week alone. On Monday, 25 schoolgirls were taken from a boarding school in Kebbi state, while on Wednesday 38 worshippers were taken by gunmen in an attack on a church in Kwara state.A senior US State Department official said on Thursday the US was considering actions such as sanctions and Pentagon engagement on counterterrorism as part of a plan to compel the Nigerian government to better protect Christian communities and religious freedom. Nigeria says claims that Christians face persecution misrepresent a complex security situation and do not take into account efforts to safeguard religious freedom.
