The Supreme Judiciary Council (SJC) has completed 12,136 electronic transactions through its “Virtual Employee” service on WhatsApp since launching the platform, as part of the council’s continued efforts to modernise judicial services, improve procedural efficiency, and facilitate public access to the judicial system. According to figures released by the SJC, the transactions were recorded between July 1, 2025, and August 31 this year. During August 2026 alone, 1,147 transactions were completed through the service, indicating the growing role of digital communication channels in delivering judicial services and simplifying procedures for the targeted beneficiaries. The Virtual Employee service, introduced through the council’s WhatsApp platform, enables users to access selected judicial services electronically. It was launched in July last year through the dedicated WhatsApp number 44597777. It subsequently introduced a second package of Virtual Employee services in September 2025, further expanding the range of services available to users. The SJC has continued to expand the service and introduce additional digital offerings, providing beneficiaries with more convenient ways to interact with the judicial system and reducing the need for physical visits to court facilities. Meanwhile, the SJC has been developing electronic platforms and remote service channels to streamline transactions, enhance accessibility, and support a more user-focused judicial experience. The council’s digital transformation has also extended to electronic court services and remote litigation. During the first quarter of 2026, the courts processed 5,052 cases through remote litigation using video-conferencing technologies, while 777 new cases were registered electronically, stressing the growing integration of digital tools into court operations and the delivery of judicial services. In addition, the courts recorded 109,981 requests through the courts’ electronic portal and application during 2025. The courts also processed 8,596 electronic services during the first quarter (Q1) of 2026, while the Family Documentation Department delivered 65,264 electronic services during 2025. The SJC has placed importance on digital innovation for the improvement of judicial performance. Its modernisation agenda includes expanding electronic litigation services, strengthening digital infrastructure and developing new channels for service delivery. The council has also explored the potential use of artificial intelligence (AI) in judicial applications, including technologies that could support court users and improve the efficiency of administrative and legal procedures. Through its electronic court platforms, website, mobile application, and WhatsApp-based Virtual Employee service, the SJC provides digital channels that help users access judicial information, submit requests, and follow up on transactions without repeated visits to court premises. Lawyers and litigants can benefit from electronic services that support case-related procedures, access to court information and communication with judicial authorities. At the same time, applicants can use online channels to obtain information and access selected judicial and documentation services. Judges and court personnel also benefit from the digital transformation of judicial processes, which supports more efficient case management, electronic document handling and remote litigation. Eventually, the Virtual Employee service on WhatsApp further broadened access to judicial assistance and eased related procedures.

The Supreme Judiciary Council (SJC) has announced results for its online judicial auction activities during the second quarter (Q2) of 2026, with the total value of assets sold exceeding QR1.3bn.  The results underscore the success of ongoing digital transformation initiatives that have streamlined judicial services, making court-supervised auctions more accessible, efficient, and attractive to both investors and the public. According to official data, the judicial enforcement system handled 5,993 enforcement cases during the second quarter, of which 3,308 were successfully closed. The auctions featured 2,531 assets offered for sale, with 1,304 assets successfully sold, generating a cumulative value of more than QR1.3bn.In addition, 916 parties completed enforcement procedures during the reporting period, while the cumulative number of judicial auctions conducted by the SJC has now exceeded 36,500. The auctions covered a diverse portfolio of 10 asset categories: real estate, vehicles, heavy equipment, classic cars, jewellery, valuable collectibles, premium vehicle registration plates, livestock, scrap materials, and other public auction items.  Over recent years, the SJC has expanded its electronic judicial services by introducing online auction registration, digital bidding, electronic notifications, and integrated enforcement procedures. These reforms have reduced processing times, enhanced transparency, minimised administrative burdens, and improved access to judicial services for citizens, residents, businesses, and investors.  Judicial auctions have become an increasingly important pillar of Qatar’s legal and economic ecosystem by facilitating the timely enforcement of court judgments, accelerating debt recovery, and supporting commercial certainty.  The strong second-quarter performance comes against the backdrop of Qatar’s resilient economy.  Compared with the previous quarter (Q1), the second quarter of 2026 reflects continued momentum in Qatar’s judicial enforcement system, driven by stronger asset values and sustained operational efficiency.  While the overall number of enforcement cases remained broadly stable, the value of assets sold surpassed QR1.3bn, indicating that higher-value properties and commercial assets were brought to auction and successfully liquidated.  The closure of 3,308 cases, together with the sale of 1,304 assets from 2,531 assets offered, demonstrates the results of improvements in the effectiveness of judicial execution and asset disposal.  The cumulative total of more than 36,500 judicial auctions also points to the steady expansion of the SJC’s auction platform, reflecting growing public participation, increased confidence in digital auction mechanisms, and the judiciary’s ongoing success in accelerating the enforcement of court judgments.
