 The Public Prosecution, represented by the Criminal Studies Institute, received a delegation of officer candidates from Ahmed bin Mohammed Military College as part of efforts to strengthen co-operation between the judicial and military institutions and promote the exchange of legal knowledge.  The visit programme, organised as part of the candidates’ practical training, began with an introductory meeting in the institute’s lecture hall. During the session, the candidates learned about the Public Prosecution’s organisational structure, the nature of its work, and its central role in the country’s justice system.  They were also introduced to key laws and procedures governing the Public Prosecution’s work in its pursuit of justice.  The visit included a field tour of several partial prosecution offices, where the candidates learned about daily operations and observed first-hand the procedures for receiving and examining reports, preparing investigation records, and referring case files to the competent courts.  The tour provided an opportunity to connect their academic and theoretical knowledge with practical, real-world experience.  The programme further included a visit to the Public Prosecution’s library, an important resource for researchers and legal specialists in the country.  The candidates explored its collection of legal references, periodicals, and specialised books on criminal law. 

The Public Prosecution, through its Institute of Criminal Studies, organized a regional training course on combatting trafficking in persons in conformity with international standards. Convened in partnership with the United Nations Human Rights Training and Documentation Centre for South-West Asia and the Arab Region, the course brought together 10 members from the Public Prosecution, alongside 10 members from the Public Prosecutions of the GCC states.The course covered the legal framework for combating trafficking in persons, the relevant international treaties, the nature and elements of the crime, the concept of human trafficking and how it differs from similar offenses, and the role of the Public Prosecution in investigating, uncovering and prosecuting the crime, and gathering evidence.Overall, the course was intended to augment the capabilities of members of the Public Prosecution in applying national and international standards in combating trafficking in persons, in addition to strengthening their skills in crime detection, investigation and proving the crime, while ensuring the protection of the rights of victims and witnesses.It aimed to boost judicial cooperation, share expertise among the participating countries and ultimately benefit from the Qatari experience in this domain.The course followed recommendations by the Public Prosecutors of the GCC states to promote the exchange of expertise and training programs among training institutes across all member states. 

His Excellency Qatar's Attorney-General Dr Issa Saad al-Jafali al-Nuaimi, Sunday opened the seventh qualifying course for Public Prosecution assistants for 2026-2027, marking the start of a year-long training program designed to prepare the newly appointed officials for their duties.At the opening ceremony, the new Public Prosecution assistants took the legal oath before HE al-Nuaimi, formally assuming their responsibilities.Addressing the participants, al-Nuaimi urged them to make the most of the course's theoretical and practical components and to commit fully to their training to ensure effective professional performance.He underscored the vital role of Public Prosecution members in upholding justice and the rule of law and safeguarding the rights of individuals and society, urging the participants to uphold the highest standards of professional integrity, independence, objectivity and transparency, adhere to public-service ethics, and work to earn and maintain public trust.He also emphasised the importance of teamwork and continuous learning and professional development.The seventh qualifying course brings together 20 Public Prosecution assistants and is the third consecutive course to be held since Public Prosecution Law No 9 of 2023 came into force.The year-long programme includes six months of theoretical training followed by six months of practical training at the partial prosecution offices. It covers 35 specialised subjects totalling 512 training hours, focusing on areas, procedures and practical applications related to the work of the Public Prosecution.The training is delivered by senior Public Prosecution members and a number of legal experts.  

The State of Qatar, represented by the Public Prosecution, participated in the sixth meeting of the Arab Association for Prosecutors in New Alamein City, Arab Republic of Egypt.The Public Prosecution delegation was led by First Attorney-General and director of the Judicial Inspection Department Abdullah Mohammed al-Malki, with several Public Prosecution members also attending.Participants discussed approving amendments to the Association's governing principles, including establishing the terms of office for members of the Executive Committee. They also addressed establishing the Association's permanent headquarters in the Arab Republic of Egypt, completing its administrative structure, and developing its digital documentation registry.The sessions included a discussion of the financial position and discussions on proposed workshops for 2026. Meetings of the focal points, the Executive Committee and the General Assembly also featured in-depth discussions on key issues.On institutional and international matters, participants discussed ways to engage with the League of Arab States to strengthen the Association's presence, approved engagement with the European Union Agency in accordance with a draft memorandum of understanding prepared by the General Secretariat, and examined amendments to the Riyadh Arab Agreement for Judicial Co-operation.They also discussed a proposal to launch an annual award honouring distinguished members of the public prosecution services of member states, in addition to other matters in the General Secretariat's report.At the conclusion of the meeting, Qatari Public Prosecutor Nasser Ali al-Nuaimi was honoured with the Association's annual Distinguished Members Award, presented to member states in recognition of his outstanding efforts in the legal field.This marked Qatar's first participation in the Association since joining, reflecting the State's commitment to strengthening joint Arab cooperation, exchanging expertise, and supporting legal development across the Arab region. 

The Ministry of Transport (MoT) is strengthening the capabilities of its regulatory personnel through specialised training in judicial enforcement procedures, organised by the Public Prosecution.The initiative, aimed at enhancing the legal and field skills of ministry personnel and support efforts to ensure safe, reliable and high-quality transport services for the public, is part of ongoing co-operation between the MoT and the Public Prosecution.It supports the ministry’s continued inspection campaigns targeting companies operating in the transport sector to verify compliance with applicable laws and regulations.During the first half of this year, the MoT conducted intensive inspection campaigns covering 987 vehicles, with violations recorded in 10% of the vehicles inspected. 

The Public Prosecution organised a number of activities on the National Sport Day, with the participation of His Excellency Dr Issa Saad al-Jafali al-Nuaimi, Attorney-General, alongside a number of prosecutors, administrative leaders, and employees, as a practical embodiment of its commitment to supporting physical activity and its positive impact on building a balanced and productive work environment. The events organised by the Public Prosecution included a variety of activities such as fitness exercises, running races, and team sports matches, which contributed to strengthening team spirit and cooperation among employees. The events also featured sports activities and competitions dedicated to children, adding a family-friendly atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and positive interaction. The Public Prosecution stressed that this annual occasion represents a valuable opportunity to enhance human interaction and reinforce positive values among employees, positively reflecting on the work environment and raising the level of institutional performance. Accordingly the members of the Public Prosecution expressed their admiration for the distinctive edition of National Sport Day, praising its organisation, which combined healthy sports competition with human solidarity. They considered it an opportunity to reassess healthy lifestyle priorities and viewed the event as a practical reminder of the importance of balancing professional commitments with selfcare. 

Qatar and Albania signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the field of public prosecution Monday. The MoU was signed by His Excellency the Attorney-General Dr Issa Saad al-Jafali al-Nuaimi and visiting Prosecutor General of Albania Olsian Çela. Following the signing, HE the attorney-general met with the prosecutor general of Albania, where they exchanged views on a number of topics of mutual interest and discussed ways to strengthen co-operation in the field of public prosecution.  

HE Attorney-General Dr. Issa bin Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi inaugurated Sunday the sixth qualifying course for the assistants of the Public Prosecution for the 2025/2026 academic year, marking the beginning of a new phase of training and qualifications. The course, which will last for a full year, is organised and supervised by the Criminal Studies Institute at the Public Prosecution.In his opening remarks, HE Al Nuaimi emphasised the importance of the foundational course in preparing fully qualified legal personnel capable of contributing to the work of the Public Prosecution. He noted that passing this course is a basic and mandatory requirement for completing a legal career, which includes ongoing tests and assessments to ensure the achievement the desired level of competency.HE Al Nuaimi praised the efforts made by the Criminal Studies Institute in preparing qualified legal personnel, especially with the implementation of the provisions of Public Prosecution Law No. 9 of 2023, which enhances the role of the Public Prosecution in achieving justice.At the end of the ceremony, HE the Attorney General handed over certificates to the graduates of the fifth qualifying course for 2024/2025, comprising 13 assistant prosecutors.The previous course lasted a full year and included 31 specialised training courses totaling 428 hours, covering the fields, procedures, and applications of the Public Prosecution's work.
