Msheireb Downtown Doha has become a thriving centre of football, culture, and family-friendly entertainment as it hosts one of the fan zones for the Arab Cup 2025. The fan zone offers an immersive experience for Qatar residents and visitors, including many arriving from neighbouring GCC countries. It features interactive activities that include gaming stations like PlayStation kiosks and football-themed games, among others, keeping them engaged and entertained from afternoon until late evening.A number of visitors lauded the comfort, uniqueness, and diversity of the fan zone experience, citing the welcoming atmosphere and well-designed seating areas that allow fans to enjoy matches in a relaxed setting.**media[389242]**Supporters from abroad attending the tournament also praised the sense of community and shared excitement that fills the area during match days.Imad Mohana, who travelled from Dubai to take part in the Arab Cup festivities, told Gulf Times: “The vibes here are great. “We’re here today to watch Egypt versus Kuwait, and we’re looking forward to Jordan’s match Thursday and Palestine versus Tunisia the day after.”Mohana said that while he and his group have tickets to attend some matches at the stadiums, fan zones offer a different way to experience the tournament. “We will go to the stadium for a few games, but for the other matches we prefer to watch here at Msheireb and in Lusail. The fan zones give you a different feeling,” he added.About Msheireb, he pointed out: “It’s very nice. There are a lot of activities, it’s great for families, and the seating area is very comfortable, which makes watching the games even better.”A large screen showcasing live matches has become a focal point, drawing many visitors eager to watch the tournament unfold in a shared, celebratory setting. An official Arab Cup merchandise store also allows fans to take home memorabilia.

Msheireb Downtown Doha all set to welcome fans for Arab Cup

Msheireb Properties announced the return of its celebrated Winter Season at Msheireb Downtown Doha (MDD), a citywide programme of entertainment, culture, and family experiences taking place from December 1-January 31.Themed “In Msheireb, there is a vibe for everyone”, this year’s season showcases the best of sport, design, music, cinema, and national celebration in one walkable urban destination.The winter activations will run daily from 4pm-10pm at Barahat Msheireb, Sikkat Wadi Msheireb, Msheireb Museums, Sahat Al Nakheel, and Al Kahraba Street. The 2025–2026 winter season kicks off in early December with the Baraha Premium Fan Zone and Sikkat Wadi Msheireb activation, coinciding with the Arab Cup 2025. These opening activations capture the excitement of the tournament through live match screenings, football-themed experiences, vibrant entertainment, and community gatherings that transform the city into a celebration of sport and regional pride.Sweet Sikka at Sahat Al Nakheel returns with the much-loved Candy Zone now in its second year. 2nd Edition of Msheireb awards concludes

The second edition of the Innovation by Design Summit and expanded Msheireb Awards for Innovation in Design concluded successfully on Wednesday at Msheireb Downtown Doha, showcasing Qatar as a growing centre for world-class design. The events, presented by Msheireb Properties in collaboration with Fast Company Middle East and powered by Doha Design District with Media City Qatar as strategic partner, brought together over 400 design experts, creative professionals, and industry enthusiasts from around the world, to advance critical dialogue on the future of design. The comprehensive one-day programme served as an interactive forum for examining how design shapes business, technology, and culture. Sessions spanned artificial intelligence, sustainable architecture, immersive media, and cultural exchange, featuring discussions on "Building the Nervous System of the AI Age," "Designing for an Uncertain World," and "When Art Meets Algorithm." Yasamin Shaikhi from VCUarts Qatar won Product Design & Innovation for "Food Waste Renaissance: From the Table, For the Table," transforming food by-products into functional lighting that advances circular design principles. Sheikh Khalifa bin Abdullah Al-Thani received Art & Design Expression recognition for his multimedia exhibition "Intaj" and creative platform "Intajat," bridging heritage, art, and cultural storytelling whilst supporting local creative ecosystems. Bachir Mohammed was honoured in Design for Social Impact for "Echo of Lost Innocence", a large-scale installation of 15,000 concrete-bound teddy bears symbolising children lost in Gaza, using art to raise awareness and support humanitarian relief. The awards were presented by Eng. Al Kuwari and Eng. Al Khori, highlighting the partnership shaping Qatar as a regional design destination where global expertise meets local creativity.

AFG College with the University of Aberdeen opens new premises in Msheireb

AFG College with the University of Aberdeen, subsidiary of Al Faleh Educational Holding, has opened its new premises in Msheireb area, which will serve as a hub for innovative programmes.The new premises at NBK1 Tower has been designed, after consultation with key stakeholders, to enhance the teaching and learning facilities and includes dedicated computer labs for the teaching of Cyber Security and Artificial Intelligence (AI), Al Faleh Educational Holding said in a communique to the Qatar Stock Exchange.The opening ceremony was attended by Al Faleh Educational Holding Chairperson and Founder, Dr Sheikha Aisha bint Faleh al-Thani, and Chief Executive Officer Sheikha Anwar bint Nawaf al-Thani alongside the University of Aberdeen Principal and Vice Chancellor, Professor George Boyne."This is not just the opening of a new teaching space, it represents our commitment as an organisation, to continued growth and development and to work towards providing our community with the resources required to tackle the ever-changing environment in which we operate. Centered on the theme "Healthy Qatar: Addressing Lifestyle-Related Health Concerns," the event gathered healthcare specialists, wellness practitioners, and community members to discuss preventive care and holistic well-being. The session provided a comprehensive platform to examine how simple, everyday lifestyle changes can yield long-term benefits for individuals, families, and the Qatari society at large. Held at Bin Jelmood House — a museum dedicated to human perseverance and social development, the event continued the Science Cafe's mission of bridging scientific knowledge with public understanding. The fourth Science Cafe session structured its discussions about several critical themes in preventive healthcare: A National Snapshot of the current health trends in Qatar, The Wellness Triad of nutrition, exercise, and mental well-being, and Community Voices and Support Systems that emphasised the importance of local initiatives in shaping healthier lifestyles. Additional segments focused on Empowering Families Through Education and Action and A Shared Vision for a Healthier Qatar, underscoring the collective responsibility across communities and institutions. Dr. Sahar Da'as, Research Manager at Sidra Medicine and lead of the Science Cafe initiative, stressed the personal significance of the event: "As both a researcher and a mother, I recognize that sustainable health change begins not in clinics or laboratories, but in our homes and communities. Our goal in every Science Cafe session is to translate complex scientific concepts into actionable insights that can improve the health and wellness of every family in Qatar. This session reminds us that prevention is not only about medical advice, but also about choices made in homes, schools, and workplaces. Abdulla Al Naama, General Manager of Msheireb Museums, highlighted how the partnership with Sidra Medicine supports broader cultural and social goals: "These sessions encourage dialogue on topics that directly affect people's lives, and we are proud to see the community actively engaging with science in this setting. The event featured contributions from invited speakers, including Dr. Shaza Elhassan, Pediatrics Consultant at Children & Young People's Services, Sidra Medicine; Dr. Aisha Al-Ahmadi, Assistant Professor of Clinical Mental Health and Counseling Psychology at Qatar University; Rachel Rahme, journalist, Social Media Personality, and Health and Lifestyle Influencer, ; Iman Alazwani, Founder of the 5AM Club and Research Specialist at Sidra Medicine; and Ikhlas Ahmed, Engagement Specialist at Qatar National Library. The speakers shared their expertise and practical guidance with participants, where they discussed diverse perspectives on health, wellbeing, and community engagement. Meanwhile, the session was moderated by Dr. Omar Abdelsattar, Sustainability Strategist and Programme Leader at the Qatar Research, Development and Innovation (QRDI) Council. In addition to the talks, the event also featured booth exhibitors including Qatar National Library, OrangeTheory, the 5AM Club, and Zest Activewear. Launched in 2024, Science Cafe is a continuing collaboration between Msheireb Museums and Sidra Medicine designed to encourage public engagement with scientific issues that affect society. The 2025 series spans diverse topics, from community health and comprehensive care to rare genetic conditions, with each session offering accessible discussions led by experts.
