The State of Qatar has expressed its categorical rejection of Israeli statements regarding the annexation of areas in southern Lebanon and areas extending to the 'Yellow Line' in the Gaza Strip, describing them as a blatant challenge to international law and resolutions of international legitimacy. In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged the international community to shoulder its responsibilities and compel the Israeli occupation government to halt its expansionist plans and settlement policy in the occupied Palestinian territories. The Ministry reiterated the State of Qatar’s steadfast position in support of the Palestinian cause and the resilience of the fraternal Palestinian people, based on ending the occupation and enabling the Palestinian people to attain their legitimate rights, foremost among them the establishment of an independent state along the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. It also reaffirmed Qatar’s steadfast position toward the fraternal Republic of Lebanon and its sovereignty over its entire territory. 

Several Palestinians were wounded Sunday by Israeli occupation fire as the occupation continued to violate the ceasefire agreement by launching further raids and shelling operations across the Gaza Strip.Medical sources reported that several Palestinians sustained injuries from a strike by an Israeli drone targeting a gathering of civilians near the Al-Shati Camp market, west of Gaza city.  Another Palestinian was wounded by an Israeli drone strike near the tents of displaced persons close to the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood market, northwest of the city.  The Israeli occupation army continued its shelling and gunfire operations, and attack helicopters opened fire east of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, coinciding with heavy tank fire, launched from positions east of the city, directed straight at the city center. Additionally, an Israeli drone carried out a strike near the Tabariya station in the Al-Mawasi area of the city.The Al-Mawasi area of Rafah was subjected to artillery shelling and heavy gunfire from Israeli military vehicles.  Northwestern areas of Gaza city witnessed heavy gunfire from Israeli gunboats, while Israeli vehicles and gunboats fired heavily west of Beit Lahia in the northern Strip.The death toll from the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, has risen to 74,016 killed and 175,068 injured, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.  A ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel had come into effect in October 2025, however, occupation forces continue to violate it by launching further airstrikes and artillery shelling, as well as engaging in heavy gunfire across various areas of the Strip.

A Palestinian was martyred and another wounded on Sunday in an Israeli airstrike on the southern Gaza Strip.Palestinian medical sources said an Israeli drone struck a gathering of residents in Al Mawasi area of Khan Younis, killing one person and wounding another.Several Palestinians were also injured in Israeli strikes on the Sheikh Radwan neighbourhood and Al Shati refugee camp in western Gaza City earlier today.The death toll from the Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, has risen to 74,016, with 175,068 people injured, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.A ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel came into effect last October, but Israeli forces have continued to violate it with further airstrikes, artillery shelling and heavy gunfire across the Gaza Strip. 

The Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has launched a new relief project to distribute 1,873 food parcels to displaced and vulnerable families across Gaza's northern and southern governorates, at a total cost of $274,000.Dr Akram Nassar, director of QRCS’ representation office in Gaza, said: “This is another episode of QRCS’ intensive relief efforts to improve the living conditions of the blockade’s two-million population, preserve their dignity, and alleviate their suffering.These efforts involve a wide range of projects implemented in coordination with local partners, including the distribution of food parcels and hot meals at displacement camps and shelters”. As he received a food parcel from QRCS, Bilal (55) sadly described the hard times in Gaza: “Honestly, the economic situation is desperate, and I have no source of income to secure even the most basic needs for my family”.Having two impaired daughters and a lost son, Bilal was forced to flee his home in Shejaiya last year, and he and his family found themselves stuck in a dilapidated tent near the Port of Gaza. “This timely aid will feed my family and relieve me of the burden of worrying about our next meal, given the complete lack of jobs in Gaza,” added the man.He hoped for further support for displaced families, who were struggling to survive and badly needed humanitarian assistance. In the same vein, QRCS is preparing a QR16.5mn food security enhancement scheme for Gaza, including restoring and operating six bakeries to produce bread, distributing diverse food parcels and hot meals, and providing Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Foods (RUTF) for malnourished children. Being ritually eligible to Zakat, these plans will become a reality only with the donations of charity payers, which can be made via QRCS’s website (www.qrcs.org.qa), mobile app (QRCS), donor service hotline (66666364), home donation collection hotline (33998898), or donation collection boxes/agents at malls and shopping centers. 

Qatar participated Thursday in a high-level ministerial event on "Call to Action for Palestinian Children in the West Bank and Gaza", held on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.Her Excellency the Minister of State for International Co-operation Dr Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser al-Misnad represented Qatar at the event.In her address, the minister reaffirmed Qatar's support for the "Call to Action for Palestinian Children in the West Bank and Gaza" and reiterated the country's unwavering commitment to protecting the rights and well-being of Palestinian children, noting that the call to action outlines key action points.These include urging parties to reach an immediate ceasefire, respect international law – including international human rights law and international humanitarian law – and put an end to grave violations against children, such as killing and maiming.HE Dr al-Misnad added that the situation in the West Bank and Gaza is a tragic example of how children continue to bear the heaviest burden and face immense hardships in conflict zones.She pointed to the latest humanitarian situation report from the UN Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), which indicates that as the new school year begins across the Occupied Palestinian Territory, children continue to face barriers to accessing safe education due to displacement, insecurity caused by airstrikes and other attacks, damage to facilities, and ongoing restrictions on freedom of movement.HE Dr al-Misnad stated that the international community must continue its vigorous efforts to ensure accountability for those responsible and to take urgent measures to protect children.She added that alleviating the suffering of children has been a primary driver of Qatar's mediation efforts regarding the Gaza Strip.The minister noted that Qatar has prioritised the safety and well-being of children by contributing to urgent humanitarian efforts that benefit children and their families.She also mentioned that Qatar signed an agreement with the United Nations to supply approximately 1.3mn litres of fuel to the Gaza Strip, as part of a grant aimed at supporting the continuity of vital health services and essential humanitarian operations.HE Dr al-Misnad affirmed that Qatar remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting children worldwide through various humanitarian and development initiatives designed to provide essential services, including education, healthcare, and protection to vulnerable children, particularly in conflict-affected areas.She highlighted the pivotal role played by the Doha-based Analysis and Communication Centre of the Office of the UN Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict in fostering research, co-operation, and capacity-building efforts to protect children in conflict zones.The minister reiterated Qatar's firm and supportive stance regarding the Palestinian cause and the rights of the brotherly Palestinian people – including their right to establish an independent state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the two-state solution.She stated that, guided by its principles and a long-standing commitment, Qatar will continue to play a leading role in international efforts to support the Palestinian people, including Palestinian children, as well as children across the globe.  

Qatar Thursday called for the Gaza peace plan to move into its second phase without delay, including a full Israeli withdrawal, an international stabilisation force and territory-wide reconstruction, as a UN agency warned that the enclave's economy has suffered the most severe collapse on record.Speaking at a high-level roundtable on early recovery in Gaza on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York, Her Excellency Minister of State for International Co-operation Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser al-Misnad said Qatar is continuing its mediation with Egypt, Turkiye and the US to fully implement the comprehensive peace plan and its roadmap, in line with UN Security Council Resolution 2803.Setting out Qatar's own contribution, she said Doha had supplied Gaza with about 30mn litres of fuel over the past three years and had recently signed an agreement with the UN to provide a further 1.3mn litres. She said fuel remains vital to keeping essential civil services running, and that early recovery cannot be separated from the urgent humanitarian needs of Palestinians.She added that Qatar's humanitarian work also covers healthcare and other pressing public health needs, noting that the HH the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani Hospital for Rehabilitation and Prosthetics in Gaza serves tens of thousands of patients and people with disabilities.The minister stressed the importance of maintaining the ceasefire and of meeting all outstanding obligations under the plan's first phase. These include the immediate, safe and unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid and early recovery supplies, and the rehabilitation of vital infrastructure in the Strip.She described the roadmap as an integral part of the peace plan and said it provides the framework for moving to the second phase. That phase covers dismantling military capabilities alongside a full Israeli withdrawal, deploying an international stabilisation force, enabling the National Committee for the Management of the Gaza Strip to assume its responsibilities across the territory, and launching early recovery and reconstruction throughout Gaza.She urged all parties to meet their obligations in good faith and without delay, saying tangible progress on the ground is essential to ease Palestinian suffering and to create the conditions for sustainable recovery and lasting peace.The minister said Qatar is ready to keep working with its partners, including the UN, the Peace Council, the Palestinian Authority and all concerned parties, to advance recovery and reconstruction and to support a just, lasting and comprehensive peace.She said recovery and reconstruction must ultimately help reunify the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, with the Gaza Strip, and establish a credible, irreversible path to Palestinian self-determination and an independent state.Her remarks came as the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) said Gaza is facing the world's worst economic crisis on record. The agency reported that nine in 10 businesses have been destroyed and more than 90% of the working-age population is unemployed."The collapse of the economy of Gaza is the world's most severe economic crisis on record," UNCTAD acting secretary-general Pedro Manuel Moreno told reporters in Geneva as the agency released a new report. "It has wiped out decades of development and generated an acute economic crisis for its people."The report said 92% of Gaza's economic establishments have been damaged or destroyed. Daily per capita GDP has fallen to $0.58, and prices are 274% higher than in 2022.Israel's military offensive killed more than 73,000 people, according to the territory's health ministry, whose figures the UN regards as reliable. The offensive displaced almost the entire population of two million and damaged or destroyed most buildings before a patchy ceasefire was announced in October 2025."Before October 2023, two out of three Gazans were poor. Today, everyone in Gaza is multidimensionally poor," said Mutasim Elagraa, UNCTAD's co-ordinator for assistance to the Palestinians.He said industrial activity and agricultural production have fallen by 94%, and only 1.5% of arable land is accessible, forcing "total dependence on humanitarian food aid". 

His Excellency Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani has reiterated Qatar's condemnation of Israel's publicly declared rejection of the roadmap for completing implementation of US President Donald Trump's comprehensive plan to end the conflict in Gaza.The prime minister urged the international community to assume its responsibilities and pressure Israel to fulfil its obligations under the Gaza ceasefire agreement and halt its ongoing violations of the rights of the Palestinian people, so that the roadmap is fully implemented and peace and stability are ultimately achieved in the Gaza Strip.He was addressing a closed-door meeting at the level of heads of state and government, convened by French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Andy Burnham and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York.The prime minister reaffirmed Qatar's firm and steadfast support for the Palestinian cause and the rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to an independent state along the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the two-state solution.The Board of Peace, which Trump established and chairs, proposed the 15-point roadmap on July 30, setting out a phased, conditional framework for disarmament and reconstruction under which Hamas would disarm in exchange for a full Israeli military withdrawal and the handover of governance to an independent Palestinian National Committee backed by an international security force.

Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) has condemned the Israeli authorities' decision to close two cases referred by the organization for review without opening criminal investigations.The two cases concern multiple attacks on an MSF convoy in Gaza City in November 2023, which killed two people, and an airstrike on an MSF shelter in Khan Younis in February 2024, which killed two people and injured six others.In a statement, MSF said the decision came nearly two years after it submitted its requests and after the organization petitioned the Israeli Supreme Court over the military prosecutor’s failure to respond to its formal requests.MSF described the decision as unjust and unacceptable, criticizing the closure of the cases after two years of silence."This is not surprising when a military institution is tasked with investigating its own actions,” the organization said, arguing that the system had demonstrated an unwillingness to address violations in Gaza that may amount to war crimes.MSF said its staff members and their family members had been killed by Israeli forces despite the organization having notified Israeli authorities of their locations. The vehicles involved were also clearly marked with the organization’s emblem, it said.The organization said the decision effectively confirmed that there would be no meaningful accountability within Israel’s legal system for the deaths of its staff, and called for the cases to be reviewed by an independent, impartial investigative body.According to MSF, 15 of its staff members have been killed by Israeli forces in Gaza since October 2023, along with around 1,700 healthcare workers.MSF reiterated that no military objective can justify the mass killing of civilians and that an internal military review cannot replace genuine, independent and impartial accountability.  

Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa warned Wednesday of the relentless cataclysmic situation in the Gaza Strip and the disruption of relief operations and recovery arising from the throttles put on them by Israel.He also cautioned against shortages of medical supplies, fuel and food, and clamored once again for global action to never tolerate taking advantage of the plight of the Palestinian people as a bargaining chip in the Israeli elections.Having met with a delegation from the German Parliament, Mustafa stressed that it is important to ramp up global efforts and pressure to implement the second phase in the Gaza enclave, along with UN Security Council Resolution 2803.Recovery and reconstruction must be initiated, and all Israeli measures in the West Bank must be stopped, Mustafa underlined, noting the efforts being exerted by the government in the Gaza Strip to have whatever possible fundamental services in place for people, despite the limited potential.Mustafa suggested that the efforts of government crews in health and education should be determined, in addition to repairing water grids, removing the rubble, and carrying out other kinds of interventions.For its part, the German delegation underscored Germany's supportive position on the embodiment of the two-state solution and its constant humanitarian and relief support for the Palestinian people. 

The Foreign Ministers of Qatar and seven Arab and Islamic countries condemned Israel's declared rejection of the roadmap aimed at completing the implementation of US President Donald Trump's comprehensive plan to end the conflict in Gaza, as well as Israel's rejection of the establishment of a Palestinian state.In a joint statement, the foreign ministers stressed the urgent need for the full and immediate implementation of the comprehensive plan, which would contribute to addressing the dire humanitarian situation, ensuring security and stability for all in Gaza, paving the way for reconstruction and recovery, and advancing towards a just and lasting peace based on the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and the establishment of their state in accordance with international law, thus paving the way to achieve security and stability for all countries and peoples of the region.The following is the text of the statement:The Foreign Ministers of the State of Qatar, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, the Republic of Indonesia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Republic of Turkiye, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the Arab Republic of Egypt, condemn the declared Israeli rejection of the Road Map for completing the implementation of US President Trump's Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza conflict, as endorsed by UN Security Council Resolution 2803, and the Israeli rejection of Palestinian statehood. These positions amount to a direct repudiation of the Comprehensive Plan, jeopardise its implementation, and fundamentally undermine the collective efforts undertaken to achieve a just and lasting peace. Such rejection confirms that Israel now bears responsibility for obstructing the efforts to bring peace in Gaza and the rest of the Occupied Palestinian Territory.The Road Map, which has been accepted by the Palestinian factions, is the conclusion of extensive efforts exerted by the mediators, namely Qatar, Egypt, Turkiye, the USA, the High Representative of Gaza and the Board of Peace and constitutes a vital milestone for the decommissioning of weapons concurrently with the withdrawal of Israeli forces, the deployment of the International Stabilization Force, the transfer of the administrative authority to the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza and the reconstruction of Gaza as stipulated in the Comprehensive Plan.Rejecting the Road Map constitutes an explicit refusal to proceed with the implementation of the Comprehensive Plan, and directly threatens to derail the extensive efforts exerted by US President Trump to bring an end to the war in Gaza and establish the conditions for lasting peace. In this regard, the Ministers underscore the importance of sustained and active US engagement to ensure and enforce Israel's full compliance with the commitments and arrangements envisaged under the Comprehensive Plan and its Road Map, and to prevent further obstruction of their implementation. They further stress that Israel bears direct and full responsibility for any consequences resulting from its continued rejection, obstruction, delay or non-compliance, including any resulting deterioration of the situation on the ground and disruption of ending the war in Gaza.The Ministers reaffirm the urgent need for the full and immediate implementation of the Comprehensive Plan in order to address the grave humanitarian situation, ensure security and stability for all in Gaza, and pave the way for reconstruction and recovery and advancing a just and lasting peace grounded in the Palestinian right to self-determination and statehood in accordance with international law, thereby paving the way for security and stability for all countries and peoples of the region. They categorically reject any attempt to deny or foreclose Palestinian statehood including through unilateral actions. A just, lasting and comprehensive peace only will be achieved by the implementation of two-State solution, by the realization of an independent and sovereign Palestinian State based on the 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital in accordance with international law and relevant United Nations resolutions. Any attempt to deny or foreclose Palestinian statehood therefore directly undermines the prospects for peace, security and stability throughout the region.The Ministers underscore the importance of the continued role of the Board of Peace and call all parties to support its efforts for the implementation of the Road Map and advancing the second phase of President Trump's Comprehensive Plan. The Ministers further call upon the Board of Peace, with the active support and engagement of the United States, to take immediate and concrete measures within its mandate to uphold the integrity of the Comprehensive Plan and prevent any party from obstructing its implementation.   

Qatar has called on the international community to press Israel into implementing the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire, saying its rejection of the peace plan is a continuation of the foot-dragging that has marked the accord since day one.Advisor to the Prime Minister and Foreign Ministry spokesman Dr Majed bin Mohammed al-Ansari told the ministry's weekly briefing that the recent declaration by Hamas had delivered a breakthrough, and that responsibility now rested with the Israeli side to meet its obligations.Doha continues to work with international partners to secure the transition to the second phase, based on the plan announced by the US president, he said, with mediation running in lockstep with the United States, Egypt and Turkiye.Al-Ansari said escalation on the ground in Gaza and the West Bank was dragging on, with rising numbers of martyrs and relentless attacks on schools, civilian institutions, hospitals and homes. He stressed the importance of the international community taking a clear position, and said Qatar was working with regional partners to shape a response proportionate to Israeli conduct.Qatar backs all measures taken by friendly nations, individually or collectively, he said, recalling the joint statement issued by the foreign ministers of Qatar, Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkiye, Saudi Arabia and Egypt on continued Israeli violations in Gaza. Practical steps would be announced in the days ahead, he revealed.On the visit of Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman to Qatar, and whether it carried fresh messages or initiatives for de-escalation, al-Ansari said the current phase was a watershed moment in negotiations between the United States and Iran. He praised Omani efforts and reiterated Qatar's support for de-escalation.Qatar is engaged in those efforts and is following progress in the ongoing talks between Oman and Iran, he said. The minimum threshold at this stage, he added, is the restoration of freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz in line with international law.Asked about the effect of US economic pressure on Iran and its implications for de-escalation, al-Ansari said the priority now was to reopen the Strait and support the negotiating track, with talks among relevant parties still under way. Any delay in reaching an accord does not serve stability, he said, adding that Qatar, as a contributing party to mediation, wants the Strait reopened immediately, while leaving official remarks on the negotiations to the parties themselves.On the Gulf position regarding Iranian statements about the Strait, he said it amounted to a call for restoring the situation to what it had been before the crisis. What mattered most was ensuring freedom of maritime navigation, and Qatar's support for regional understandings would help protect both the security of the Strait and navigation rights under international law.Any future arrangements on managing the Strait, or on related matters, should rest on regional concurrence and full respect for international law in order to safeguard the security and stability of the region, he said.Turning to the Makkah joint defence agreement between Saudi Arabia, Turkiye and Pakistan, al-Ansari welcomed any regional co-operation that strengthens security and stability. He recalled Qatar's close strategic ties with the three countries and said Doha viewed positively any defence framework built on co-operation and good-neighbourly relations.Regional security is a collective responsibility requiring further bilateral and regional co-ordination, he said, noting the several regional platforms in which Qatar participates to foster closer co-operation. 

The death toll from the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, which began on October 7, 2023, has risen to 73,384 martyrs and 174,242 wounded.The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza reported that hospitals in the Strip received two martyrs who succumbed to their injuries in the past 24 hours, in addition to six wounded.It stated that the total number of martyrs since the ceasefire on October 11 has risen to 1,257, and the number of injuries to 4,131, while the total number of bodies recovered has reached 806.Numerous victims remain under the rubble and in the streets, as ambulance and rescue teams are unable to reach them.
