QNA organises blood donation campaign

The Qatar News Agency (QNA) organised a blood donation drive at its headquarters in collaboration with the Qatar National Blood Donation Centre of Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) to mark World Blood Donor Day, observed annually on June 14.  Held under the slogan By Blood, We Share Life... Through Giving, We Triumph, the campaign witnessed a remarkable turnout from QNA employees and staff, who were keen to take part in the humanitarian initiative, understanding its importance in supporting patients and helping save lives, particularly those in emergency situations, accidents, and surgical procedures, as well as those who require regular blood transfusions.  The initiative reflects the QNA's commitment to social responsibility and to supporting national efforts to strengthen safe blood reserves and raise awareness of the importance of blood donation as a noble, life-saving humanitarian act.  The campaign also reflects the values of social solidarity and mutual support that the agency is keen to instill, stemming from its belief in the importance of active participation in health and humanitarian initiatives that serve the community and support the national healthcare system in line with the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030.  Blood donation is regarded as a noble act that directly contributes to saving the lives of individuals suffering from chronic or malignant illnesses, as well as victims of major accidents who sustain severe blood loss, in addition to other urgent and life-threatening cases.  The HMC continues its ongoing efforts to promote participation in regular blood donation, encouraging citizens and residents alike, through its national awareness campaigns, to bolster the national blood bank reserves and meet the demands of the country.

Malaysian embassy holds blood donation campaign

The Malaysia embassy in Doha recently organised the “Malaysian Community’s Blood Donation Drive” at the Qatar National Blood Donation Centre. Held under the theme Your Blood, Their Hope, the initiative was organised in collaboration with the Malaysian Association of Qatar (MAQ), Qatar Blood Donation Services, and Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC). The programme received an encouraging response from the Malaysian community, with approximately 100 Malaysians residing in Qatar signing up to participate in the humanitarian initiative. The event was attended by Malaysian ambassador Faizal Razali, who was welcomed by Blood Donation Centre director Salwa Mohammed al-Khamisi.Also present was MAQ president Dr Mohd Faris Khamidi, embassy officials and members of the Malaysian community in Qatar. Razali expressed appreciation to all Malaysians who participated in the initiative and highlighted the importance of community support and compassion in helping save lives. He also extended his appreciation to the HMC, Qatar Blood Donation Services, MAQ, volunteers, and all parties involved for their support and co-operation in ensuring the success of the programme.

Vodafone Qatar hosts blood donation drive with HMC

Vodafone Qatar hosted a blood donation drive as part of its ongoing corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, in collaboration with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) and Msheireb Properties. The donation drive was open to Vodafone Qatar employees, partners, and the wider public, reflecting the company’s belief that meaningful community impact extends beyond its own workforce. HMC’s medical team was present throughout to screen donors and oversee the donation process, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience for all participants. There is a continuous and critical need for blood donations. Donated blood supports patients undergoing surgery, those receiving treatment for conditions such as anaemia and leukaemia, and individuals recovering from accidents or medical emergencies, making each donation potentially life-saving. Abdulhadi al-Sahli, head of Media Relations and CSR at Vodafone Qatar, said: “At Vodafone Qatar, we are committed to supporting initiatives that bring people together to benefit the wider community. This blood donation drive has brought our employees and partners together to contribute to a cause that supports patients across Qatar, and we are pleased to partner with HMC and Msheireb Properties on this initiative.”

Education Above All Foundation and Place Vendôme Host “Duck Release” Family Activation to Support Out of School Children Worldwide

In a vibrant display of creativity and community spirit, Education Above All Foundation, a global foundation for education and development, in partnership with Place Vendôme Qatar, brought together hundreds of children, families, educators, and mallgoers for the “Duck Release” activation, held at the iconic fountain area of Place Vendôme. The initiative forms a central part of EAA’s 2025 “Back to School” campaign, aimed at raising funds and awareness to support children out of school globally.The event welcomed enthusiastic participation from students and staff from Assalam Schools, Qatar Academy Sidra, Doha International School, and the Jordanian school.
