His Excellency Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad al-Muraikhi met Thursday with ambassador of the Hellenic Republic to the State of Qatar Ioannis Ioannidis on the occasion of the end of his tenure. His Excellency the Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed al-Kuwari participated in a roundtable discussion between Qatar and the United Kingdom in London, attended by leading executives from the financial and professional services sectors.The roundtable took place during the Minister's official visit to the UK. It focused on strengthening economic relations and exploring investment opportunities between the two countries.Discussions highlighted ways to mobilise Qatari capital to support growth initiatives in the UK, as well as opportunities for British investment in projects aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030, promoting sustainable development and economic growth.Participants also emphasised the importance of long-term institutional partnerships designed to mitigate risks and maximise returns, enhancing economic integration between Qatar and the UK while supporting innovative projects in the financial and services sectors.

The meeting discussed bilateral relations and ways to support and develop them, besides the developments in Lebanon as well as other topics of mutual interest. The two sides also reviewed the latest developments in Sudan, the Sahel region, and the Great Lakes region, as well as regional and international efforts aimed at supporting de-escalation and comprehensive political solutions in those regions.His Excellency the Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed the State of Qatar's position calling for resolving the armed conflict in Sudan through dialogue and peaceful means. He reiterated Qatar's firm stance in support of Sudan's unity, independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, as well as its support for the aspirations of the brotherly Sudanese people for peace, development, and prosperity.
