The opportunity will be available for fans holding Arab Cup tickets to use Doha Metro for free for all ticket holders during the days of the matches, in an effort to enhance the experience of visitors and residents in the State of Qatar. Fans will be able to access all six stadiums of the tournament via a modern transportation network that includes Doha Metro, public buses, trams, and taxis. The organizing committee has prepared an integrated plan for transportation during the tournament in coordination with the relevant authorities. the opening match will be held today, and the final match scheduled for December 18 at Lusail iconic stadium. The other stadiums hosting the matches include Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium, Education City Stadium, Khalifa International Stadium and Stadium 974. The accompanying events will include a variety of cultural and entertainment activities that will take place across fan zones located throughout the country in all stadiums. The tournament’s official mascot “Juha” embodies an iconic figure in Arab heritage, considered one of the symbols of literary and folk imagination in the region.

His Excellency Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al-Thani, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee, Sunday crowned Max Verstappen, Red Bull Racing driver as the winner of the Qatar Airways Formula 1 Grand Prix 2025. Held at Lusail International Circuit, the Qatar Grand Prix served as round 23 and the penultimate race of the Formula 1 World Championship season. Joining Sheikh Joaan in the podium ceremony were, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, President of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), Badr Mohammed al-Meer, CEO of Qatar Airways, Abdulrahman al-Mannai, President of the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation, and Abdulaziz al-Mohannadi, CEO of Lusail International Circuit. The Dutch driver clinched first place after completing the 57-lap race in a time of 1:24:38.241 hours, finishing ahead of Australia’s Oscar Piastri of McLaren, who took second place, while Spain’s Carlos Sainz of Williams secured the third place.

Marking its 30th anniversary year, Qatar Foundation (QF) has unveiled The QF Generation: an immersive storytelling platform that sees 30 people whose lives have been shaped by QF relive their personal journeys, and how they are now making a difference in their fields and their communities. Over the past three decades, QF has nurtured a local, regional, and global community of people who are confident in their identity, open to the world, and equipped to lead and to drive positive social change. Many began their journeys in QF classrooms and research spaces; others connected with QF later in life through opportunities that shifted their path. Together, they represent a generation that embodies why QF was created 30 years ago. The QF Generation includes a limited-edition commemorative coffee table book and a digital platform containing 30 stories of how QF touches and changes lives. It features students, educators, researchers, innovators, and changemakers who grew, discovered, and found their purpose because of QF, and are now creating impact in many different ways across sectors, borders, and disciplines. Visitors can explore personal narratives that span early education, university life, research breakthroughs, entrepreneurial ventures, and unexpected moments of inspiration. Each story offers a different perspective, yet all reflect how QF has influenced their growth and how they, in turn, are shaping the world around them. Among those featured are Fatma al-Khater, the founder of Torba Market; Qatari filmmaker Amal al-Muftah; and Ousman Camara, a QF alumnus inspired by his Education City experience to create his own nonprofit organisation in Sierra Leone to support young people’s education and mental health. "In this very special year for a truly unique organisation, The QF Generation celebrates the people whose journeys have been shaped and guided by Qatar Foundation,” said Yousif al-Naama, chief executive officer, QF. “Their stories remind us that the true legacy of Qatar Foundation is not reflected in buildings or programs, but in the lives it has touched and the difference those it has empowered and inspired continue to make in the world.”

The Qatar Photography Centre (QPC), affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, has organised the “The Arab Cup through Qatari Eyes" exhibition as part of a series of artistic and cultural events accompanying the launch of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025.The exhibition is aimed at reviving the visual memory of the tournament when it was hosted by Qatar in 2021, and to showcase the artistic beauty captured by the lenses of professional Qatari photographers.QPC director Jassim Ahmed al-Buainain highlighted the importance of this artistic event, which connects sports and visual culture.He said that the exhibition is the result of a collaborative effort, featuring the works of three Qatari photographers who covered the previous tournament: Jassim Ahmed al-Buainain, Asma Ghanem al-Abdullah, and Ayed Ibrahim al-Sultan.Al-Buainain noted that the collaboration between the three photographers stemmed from their shared passion for documenting this prominent sporting event.The exhibition features 45 high-quality photographs, capturing memorable moments from all the matches of the previous edition of the Arab Cup.The official added that the images transcend mere sporting documentation, embodying the artistic and human aspects of the tournament, from the players' enthusiasm to the fans' reactions and the overall atmosphere in the stadiums hosting the event.

Qatar University (QU) has signed a strategic co-operation agreement with the Qatar Satellite Company, Es’hailSat, during the events of the recent MWC25 conference and in a separate ceremony on its sidelines, it was announced Monday. The agreement aims to support the development and deployment of nano-satellite technology within the QU through a partnership that brings together the university’s research and academic capabilities with Es’hailSat’s leading expertise in operating and managing satellites. This collaboration, it was explained, represents a significant step toward strengthening Qatar’s presence in the space sector and supporting the development of national capabilities in this vital field. QU vice-president for Research and Graduate Studies Prof Aiman Erbad described the collaboration with Es’hailSat as a strategic step that reinforces university’s efforts in advancing nano-satellite technology and expanding the horizons of scientific research and innovation in the field of space. “We take pride in the fact that this partnership contributes to building exceptional national capabilities and strengthens Qatar’s presence in the space sector through pioneering projects that combine industrial expertise with academic excellence,” he said. Es’hailSat vice-president (Commercial) Hamad Omar al-Mannai said that the partnership aims to broaden the scope of scientific research and innovation within the space sector. “We take pride in contributing to the development of exceptional national capabilities and enhancing Qatar’s stature in the space industry through high-quality projects that merge industrial expertise with academic excellence,” he said. “Together, we are poised to make significant strides in this vital area of research and technological advancement.” The agreement outlined the launch of joint projects in the design, deployment, and operation of nano-satellite missions, with a focus on scientific research, technological development, and outreach in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The agreement also included the exchange of expertise, technical knowledge, and resources between both parties to ensure the success of future initiatives. The nano-satellite development initiative at the QU began in 2018, encompassing multidisciplinary student projects as well as research projects funded by the Qatar Research, Development & Innovation Programme. The QU hosts the country’s only academic satellite ground station, a key outcome of this initiative.
