Entrepreneurs from across the region and beyond converged in Doha for Web Summit Qatar 2026, where startups presented technology solutions spanning accessibility, e-commerce, customer retention and AI, while leveraging the summit to connect with investors and international partners.
Muhammad Wafeeq, founder and CEO of Wafeeq Technology, a digital platform for the deaf and hard of hearing, highlighted the summit’s potential, saying. “I want to show our solution to the world because at the Web Summit you can meet different countries, different startups, different technology, different solutions.”
Wafeeq, whose platform has already won four national awards in Qatar for digital experience and social impact, credited the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology and Qatar Development Bank for supporting the company’s journey.
Similarly, Lama AI, a Bahrain-based startup offering instant e-commerce solutions for Instagram store owners, described the summit as a networking goldmine. “We had a lot of partnerships and a lot of investor visits to our booth. I think Web Summit is a great event for networking,” said a representative, emphasising the practical opportunities the event provides for scaling their business.
Meanwhile, Walaa Qassour, representing Churn Solution from Palestine, spoke about helping subscription-based businesses reduce cancellations and retain customers. “We are here at Web Summit to have more exposure, to introduce new clients, and to make new partnerships in the MENA region, actually in Qatar, and outside,” she said.
She added that the summit has already helped the company form new connections and collaborations, accelerating its growth.
Startups addressing niche technological needs also found a home at the summit. Dominic Roblic, co-founder of VoiceFrom, a Swiss-Slovenian company specialising in simultaneous speech-to-speech interpretation, spoke about launching their new VoiceFrom Pro product, now supporting Arabic and regional dialects.
“We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of interest... from conference attendees, news organisations, and call centre software providers,” he said, reflecting the summit’s regional relevance.
Organisers, including MCIT, have made Web Summit Qatar a key milestone in Qatar’s innovation journey.
