QSE enters third day of bearish run as local retail investors, funds weigh; M-cap erodes QR5.23bn

QSE Index opens lower

The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) general index dropped 15.67 points, or 0.14%, to 11,206 points at the start of trading on Tuesday, compared with the previous session's close. Leading the decline was the transportation sector, which fell by 0.36%, followed by Banks and Financial Services (-0.25%), Insurance (-0.11%), and Industrials (-0.09%). In contrast, gains were recorded in Consumer Goods and Services (+0.03%), Real Estate (+0.05%), and Telecoms (+0.01%). By 10:00 am, QSE reported a turnover of QR 89.811 million from 42.432 million shares traded across 3,559 transactions.

US stocks close at fresh record highs

All three major Wall Street indices finished at record highs for the third straight session on Monday, buoyed by optimism over corporate earnings and resilient economic data. DECC to host Big 5 Construct Qatar, INDEX design in October

The Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) is set to host Big 5 Construct Qatar, specialized in the construction sector, concurrently with INDEX Design Qatar, dedicated to interior design and fit-out solutions, with the participation of 25-plus countries. European stocks rise supported by banking sector

European stocks rose in early trading on Monday, supported by bank shares, as investors await a busy week of central bank meetings, including the Federal Reserve's (US central bank) meeting.The Stoxx 600 index rose 0.2 percent to 556.2 points, with the interest-sensitive banking sector leading gains, up 0.8 percent.Shares of French fuel retailer Rubis rose 6.7 percent, topping the Stoxx 600 index's gainers list. The company's value is estimated at approximately USD 3.5 billion.The French CAC 40 index rose 0.4 percent, with shares of local banks such as Societe Generale up 1.3 percent, while both BNP Paribas and Credit Agricole rose about 0.9 percent.

Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) index slipped marginally at the beginning of Monday's trading, down 0.02%, losing 2.05 points to reach 11,129 points, compared to the previous session's close.QSE figures showed positive performance for the Consumer Goods and Services sector, by 0.26%, the Real Estate sector, by 0.16%, the Banking and Financial Services sector, by 0.07%, and the Transportation sector, by 0.04%. Meanwhile, the Telecommunications sector saw negative performance by 0.47%, the Insurance sector by 0.42 % and the Industrial sector by 0.09 %.As of 10:00 a.m, QSE recorded 2,893 transactions worth QR 765.187 million, and distributed over 35.451 million shares.

QSE Index closes higher

Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) general index closed Sunday's trading higher by 38.63 points, or 0.35 percent, to close at 11,131.75 points. During the session, 116,544,036 shares, valued at QAR 277,735,608.463, were traded in 18,063 transactions across all sectors. The session saw share prices rise in 32 companies, decline in 16, while four others maintained their previous closings. Market capitalization at the end of the trading session amounted to QAR 664,411,166,479.745, compared to QAR 662,592,262,902.876 in the previous session.
