A delegation from the National News Agency Nepal, headed by Executive Chairman Dharmendra Jha, visited the headquarters of Qatar News Agency (QNA) to enhance co-operation and exchange expertise. The delegation was briefed on the nature of QNA's work and the developments it has witnessed recently across its various departments.**media[391504]**The delegation toured several QNA departments to learn about the modern work systems utilised by Qatar News Agency (QNA), which positively enhance daily operations. The delegation also visited the QNA Training Hall, where they learned about the specialised and high-quality training programms offered, as well as its role in training journalism graduates and media personnel in the State who wish to join QNA or other state institutions.  

His Excellency Minister of State for Foreign Trade Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed held talks here on Sunday with Mehmet Simsek, Minister of Treasury and Finance of the Republic of Turkiye, on the sidelines of the Doha Forum 2025, as the two countries explored ways to deepen their economic partnership.The discussions focused on expanding bilateral cooperation in trade and investment, with both sides reviewing key areas of mutual interest and identifying opportunities to broaden commercial links.Officials also exchanged views on issues featured on this year's forum agenda, which spotlights global economic stability, sustainable growth and geopolitical challenges.Relations between Qatar and Turkiye have grown steadily in recent years, particularly in finance, defence and trade. Sunday's meeting was described as part of a continued effort to strengthen the strategic economic ties that underpin the partnership between the two nations.  

His Excellency  Minister of State for Energy Affairs Eng. Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi held talks in Doha on Sunday with Ian Borg, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism of the Republic of Malta, as the two countries explored ways to deepen cooperation in the energy sector.According to officials, the meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations and identifying new avenues for collaboration, particularly in the energy supply and long-term partnerships.The meeting comes as global energy markets remain sensitive to shifting geopolitical and economic pressures, prompting many countries to re-evaluate their energy security strategies. (QNA) 

His Excellency Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani met on Sunday with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism of the Republic of Malta, Dr. Ian Borg.The meeting took place on the margins of the 23rd Doha Forum 2025.The meeting underscored efforts to strengthen and advance bilateral cooperation, with both sides exchanging views on the Forum's agenda and other subjects of mutual interest. 

Dadu, Qatar's Children's Museum has announced a diverse lineup of interactive programs and activities as part of its new season, featuing engaging experiences, hands-on workshops, and fresh activities designed to inspire learning, creativity, and play for children and families.Located at Al Bidda Park, Dadu Gardens offers a nature-based play environment for children aged 0 to 12. The space is designed to spark creativity, exploration and learning through play, with a wide range of outdoor experiences.Running through April 2026, the season's activities include Recycled Art Workshops, Interactive Pathways, Find the Plant Game using Plant Matching Cards, as well as Puppet Shows, and Nature Play, including gardening, cooking, and balance activities.Among the season's highlights is the Car Painting and Washing activity, where a vehicle will be provided by Seashore Group, in addition to a custom-built platform and supply materials for the activation’s setup. This will allow children to paint and decorate a life-sized car and later wash it clean, promoting self-expression, teamwork, and environmental awareness through creative and hands-on play.Dadu encouraged families to book tickets early to secure their preferred dates and nature-based workshop spots, arts activities, games and performances. (QNA) 

His Excellency Minister of Labor Dr. Ali bin Samikh Al Marri met on Sunday with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Ghana Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.The meeting explored ways to enhance and develop joint cooperation, particularly in the labor sector.  

With the participation of  President of the Federal Republic of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, HE Special Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Faisal bin Abdullah Al Hanzab took part in a roundtable titled "State-building in Somalia: Coordinated Strategies to Sustain Progress,” held on the sidelines of the Doha Forum 2025.The session discussed coordinated strategies for sustaining progress in Somalia.  

His Excellency Minister of Transport Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Thani and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Panama Carlos Arturo Hoyos signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on mutual recognition of seafarer’s certificates between the Government of the State of Qatar and the Government of the Republic of Panama. The MoU comes within the framework of carrying out the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW Convention) and its amendments, thereby helping advance both countries’ commitment to best international standards in the field.This Memorandum applies to the certificates of seafarers who serve on registered merchant ships of any of the two parties and sail under its flag except for those who serve on the ships mentioned in Article 3 of the STCW Convention, with an affirmation that this MoU does not contradict the local laws of the two countries.Following the signing ceremony, HE Minister of Transport met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Panama to discuss aspects of bilateral cooperation in transportation industry and advancing them.

His Excellency Minister of Municipality Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiyah has been awarded the Nobel Sustainability Trust Medal for Outstanding Contribution to Sustainability, in recognition of his efforts in advancing sustainable development initiatives, promoting smart economic systems, and fostering green and resilient urban planning. The award was presented during a ceremony organized by the Nobel Sustainability Trust in the US State of Miami, in the presence of Peter Nobel, Chairman of the Nobel Sustainability Trust, along with senior officials and distinguished guests.In his address, HE the Minister of Municipality said the recognition reflects the success of Qatar's balanced and comprehensive approach to sustainability and development under the wise leadership of HH the Amir of State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. He noted that HH the Amir's clear vision for sustainability, long-term prosperity, and integrated development has guided the country's national strategies and the establishment of modern, sustainable cities.His Excellency added that Qatar's commitment to sustainability is rooted in a firm belief in the necessity of safeguarding the environment and enhancing the proesperity of future generations, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.He noted that the Ministry of Municipality has worked to develop smart, integrated and resilient urban environments based on scientific planning, efficient land use, digital transformation, and advanced infrastructure and sustainability projects. These efforts, he said, have strengthened Qatar's position as a leading international model for balanced and sustainable development. HE the Minister of Municipality also pointed to the strategic partnership with the Nobel Sustainability Trust, which reflects Qatar's commitment to supporting international sustainability efforts, praising the Trust's role in advancing scientific and innovative solutions to global sustainability challenges.The Nobel Sustainability Trust announced in June that Qatar had been selected to host the 2026 Nobel Sustainability Awards Ceremony, praising the country's achievements in innovation and sustainability. A high-level delegation from the Trust recently visited Doha, expressing admiration for Qatar's ambitious national vision and its advanced initiatives in digital transformation, resource efficiency, and sustainable city development.

Qatar Airways Group has announced the appointment of Hamad Ali al‑Khater as Group Chief Executive Officer. Al-Khater took over as the new Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer Sunday. He succeeds Badr Mohammed al‑Meer. Al-Khater joined Qatar Airways Group from Hamad International Airport, where he has served as Chief Operating Officer. In that role, he was responsible for ensuring the safety and reliability of airport operations, while leading its strategic direction, operational excellence, infrastructure expansion, and the continuous enhancement of passenger experience. Prior to his tenure at Hamad International Airport, al-Khater held senior roles across QatarEnergy, driving business development, deal execution, and leading large-scale strategic and operational initiatives. Qatar Airways Group Board of Directors Chairman, His Excellency Saad Sherida al-Kaabi said: “Qatar Airways Group extends its appreciation to Engr. Badr Mohammed al-Meer for his service. As we welcome Mr. Hamad Ali al-Khater, we look forward to building on the strong foundations and expansive global network of Qatar Airways, anchored by our exceptional team in Qatar and around the world. “With this leadership transition, Qatar Airways Group reaffirms its commitment to delivering world-class experiences, reliability, and innovation to travellers around the globe.”

Qatar Chamber first vice-chairman Mohammed bin Towar al-Kuwari held three separate meetings Sunday with the ambassador of Benin, the chargé d’affaires of the embassy of Zambia, and the president of the Malian Business Association, in the presence of Qatar Chamber board member Dr Mohammed bin Jawhar al-Mohammed.In the first meeting, al-Kuwari received Dr Bida Youssoufou, ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Benin to the State of Qatar. The meeting touched on fostering trade and economic cooperation between the two countries and exploring investment opportunities across several sectors, including agriculture, energy, and tourism. It also discussed the possibility of organising a Qatari delegation visit to Benin to review the available opportunities firsthand.**media[390911]**Al-Kuwari affirmed that Qatar Chamber encourages Qatari investors who are seeking new opportunities in the African continent, which offers abundant prospects and attractive incentives. He also underscored the chamber’s keenness to strengthen cooperation between business owners from both sides and to promote investment opportunities in Benin within the Qatari business community.Youssoufou noted that Benin welcomes Qatari investments across all sectors, highlighting the importance of enhancing co-operation between the embassy and the chamber.During the second meeting, al-Kuwari received Stanley Kachabi, Chargé d’Affaires of the embassy of the Republic of Zambia. Kachabi underscored his country’s aspiration to attract Qatari investments in the mining, agriculture, tourism, and food processing sectors.**media[390912]**He also emphasised the importance of signing a memorandum of understanding between the chambers of both countries and establishing a joint business council to enhance communication and cooperation between the Qatari and Zambian private sectors.In the third meeting, the chamber received Mossadeck Bally, president of the National Council of Employers of Mali (CNPM), who reviewed the key investment opportunities available in sectors such as metals, gold, and agriculture, among others.
