Qatar and Britain have signed an extension to their defence co-operation agreement during a visit to Britain by His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan al-Thani.The agreement was signed by HE Sheikh Saoud and British Defence Secretary Wes Streeting during a meeting that discussed issues of mutual interest and ways to strengthen bilateral co-operation.The meeting was attended by Qatar’s ambassador to Britain, HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Saud al-Thani, and senior officers and officials from both sides. 

Qatar Chamber second vice chairman Rashid bin Hamad al-Athba held a meeting Monday with Malta’s ambassador to Qatar, Maria Camilleri Calleja, to discuss economic and trade relations between Qatar and Malta.The meeting also focused on ways to further develop and strengthen bilateral ties, and reviewed key opportunities for cooperation between Qatari and Maltese business owners.Al-Athba lauded the strong relations between Qatar and Malta, noting that Qatar Chamber supports enhancing cooperation between Qatari and Maltese companies across various economic sectors through effective partnerships that contribute to the growth of the economies of both countries.He noted that the Qatari market welcomes various investments and offers a range of investment incentives and facilities that contribute to attracting foreign investment and enhancing the business environment.Calleja said there is significant interest among Maltese business owners and companies in exploring the investment opportunities available in the Qatari market and strengthening cooperation with their Qatari counterparts.She pointed to the possibility of organising a business forum, bringing together business owners from both sides to explore prospects for cooperation and partnerships in sectors including food, trade, services, pharmaceuticals, innovation, and other areas of mutual interest.

His Excellency Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani Sunday held a telephone call with Omani Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood al-Busaidi.They discussed bilateral co-operation and ways to bolster it, along with the latest regional developments, particularly diplomatic efforts and joint coordination aimed at de-escalation and enhancing security and stability in the region.The prime minister affirmed Qatar's support for all diplomatic efforts and endeavours aimed at a solution guaranteeing freedom of maritime navigation and paving the way for a comprehensive agreement achieving sustainable peace in the region.The prime minister also held a telephone call with Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah al-Saud.They discussed bilateral co-operation and ways to develop it, along with the latest regional developments, particularly ongoing diplomatic efforts and close coordination to de-escalate tensions and strengthen security and stability in the region.The prime minister stressed that Qatar supports all diplomatic efforts seeking a resolution that guarantees freedom of maritime traffic, paving the way for a comprehensive agreement that achieves enduring peace in the region.The prime minister held a telephone call with Kuwaiti Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Jarrah Jaber al-Ahmad al-Sabah as well.They discussed bilateral co-operation and ways to strengthen it, along with the latest regional developments, notably diplomatic efforts and joint coordination to de-escalate tensions and strengthen security and stability in the region.The prime minister held a telephone call with Minister for European and International Affairs of Austria Beate Meinl-Reisinger, too.They discussed bilateral co-operation and ways to strengthen it, along with the latest regional developments, particularly diplomatic efforts and joint coordination aimed at de-escalation and enhancing security and stability in the region.The prime minister affirmed Qatar's support for all diplomatic efforts and endeavours aimed at a solution guaranteeing freedom of maritime navigation and paving the way for a comprehensive agreement achieving sustainable peace in the region. 

The Chief Executive Officer of the Qatar Free Zones Authority (QFZ), Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Faisal al-Thani, met with ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the State of Qatar, Ferdinand Lahnstein, reports QNA. During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral cooperation in the fields of free zones and investment between the two countries. The meeting also highlighted the investment opportunities and the outstanding benefits offered by QFZ and supported by the country's advanced infrastructure. The meeting was followed by an introductory tour in the Business Innovation Park at Ras Bufontas Free Zone. 

His Excellency the Minister of Environment and Climate Change Dr Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki al-Subaie met Sunday with Eritrea’s ambassador to Qatar Ali Ibrahim Ahmed.The meeting discussed bilateral co-operation with regard to protecting the environment and achieving Sustainable Development Goals.The two sides also explored ways to strengthen and develop their bilateral ties, particularly on issues of mutual concern related to the environment and climate change.  

His Excellency the Minister of Labour Dr Ali bin Samikh al-Marri met separately with Jordan’s Minister of Labour Dr Nidal al-Qatamin, Libya’s Minister of Labour and Rehabilitation Ali al-Abed al-Rida, and International Labour Organisation (ILO) regional director for Arab states Dr Ruba Jaradat, on the sidelines of the ongoing Arab Labour Conference in Cairo.The meetings addressed bilateral co-operation in the field of labour, as well as ways to strengthen and further develop them.  

His Excellency  Minister of Labour Dr. Ali bin Samikh Al Marri met on Tuesday with Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Chaudhry Salik Hussain.During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral cooperation relations between the State of Qatar and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in the labour field, and ways to support and develop them. 

His Excellency Director-General of Qatar News Agency Ahmed bin Saeed Al Rumaihi met on Thursday with the Ambassador of the Republic of The Sudan to the State of Qatar Badreddine Abdullah Mohammed Ahmed.The meeting discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the media sector.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani met at his office in Lusail Palace Tuesday morning with four ambassadors, who have come to the end of their respective tenures, and five new ambassadors who presented their credentials.The ambassadors of Ethiopia, Ghana, Sweden and Colombia called on His Highness to greet him at the end of their tenure.HH the Amir awarded the ambassadors the Al Wajbah Decoration in recognition of their contributions to strengthening ties between Qatar and their countries, and wished them success in their future duties and continued progress and prosperity in bilateral relations.The ambassadors expressed their deep gratitude and appreciation to HH the Amir and to officials in Qatar for the co-operation extended to them, which contributed to the success of their missions in the country.HH the Amir also received the credentials of five new ambassadors to Qatar at his office at Lusail Palace Tuesday.The envoys were Maldive's Adam Shareef Umar, Republic of Korea's Hong Ji-pyo, Albania's Jeta Kreka, Kazakhstan's Bakhyt Batyrshayev and Malta's Maria Camilleri CallejaHH the Amir welcomed the new ambassadors and wished them success in their duties, along with further progress in bilateral relations between Qatar and their countries.The ambassadors conveyed to HH the Amir the greetings of their countries' leaders and their wishes for continued progress and prosperity for the people of Qatar.They were accorded an official reception ceremony on arrival at Lusail Palace. 

His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) Dr Ahmed bin Hassan al-Hammadi met Monday with Ethiopia’s ambassador to Qatar Faisal Ali Ibrahim, on the occasion of the end of his tenure.  HE Dr al-Hammadi thanked Ibrahim for his efforts in supporting and strengthening bilateral relations, and wished him success in his new duties.  

His Excellency Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani held separate telephone calls Monday with UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nahyan, Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah al-Saud, Kuwaiti Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Jarrah Jaber al-Ahmad al-Sabah, Omani Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud al-Busaidi, and Bahraini Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullatif bin Rashid al-Zayani.They discussed bilateral co-operation in each call and the latest regional developments, particularly diplomatic efforts and joint co-ordination to de-escalate and strengthen the region's security and stability.The prime minister stressed the importance of all parties committing to dialogue and diplomacy, and implementing what was agreed in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the United States and Iran, including freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, to maintain the region's security, protect the gains made and enhance stability.He renewed Qatar's support for all efforts to defuse tensions and reach a comprehensive agreement establishing permanent peace in the region.The calls extend a pattern of engagement the prime minister has sustained without interruption since the crisis began — a near-continuous round of consultations with Gulf, regional and international counterparts, conducted through the sharpest phases of the conflict and carried on into the fragile calm that followed. Qatar's diplomacy has rested throughout on a single proposition: that no outcome secured by force endures, and that the only durable settlement is one both Washington and Tehran arrive at across a table.That endeavour, pursued alongside Pakistan and reinforced by the mediation that produced the ceasefire framework, brought the two capitals back into direct contact after months in which contact itself had appeared beyond reach. Qatar's argument to its neighbours now is that the agreement is a beginning rather than a conclusion — that implementation, particularly on freedom of navigation through Hormuz, is what will determine whether the region's hard-won gains hold.  

His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr Ahmed bin Hassan al-Hammadi received Sunday a copy of the credentials of Malta’s ambassador to Qatar Maria Camilleri Calleja.  HE Dr al-Hammadi wished Camilleri Calleja success in carrying out her duties, assuring her of full support to advance bilateral relations between Qatar and Malta to foster closer co-operation across various fields.
