His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani held a telephone conversation Thursday with US President Donald Trump during which they discussed bilateral relations and the latest regional and international developments.The two leaders discussed the close strategic partnership between Qatar and the United States and explored ways to further strengthen co-operation.The discussions also focused on diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions in the region. In this context, HH the Amir and Trump took stock of the outcomes of consultations and understandings reached between the US and Iran, which have led to progress in the ongoing negotiation process.The US president said the understandings reached had received the approval of all concerned parties, with the participation and support of several friendly countries, including Qatar. He added that efforts were continuing to complete the final procedures ahead of an announcement on arrangements for signing an agreement.HH the Amir welcomed efforts to resolve disputes through dialogue and peaceful means, reaffirming Qatar's support for initiatives aimed at strengthening regional and international security and stability and promoting peace and cooperation among countries in the region.His Highness also expressed his appreciation to President Trump for his efforts in supporting de-escalation and diplomatic engagement.HH the Amir and President Trump have remained in close contact in recent weeks amid heightened regional tensions, underlining the importance both sides attach to consultation and co-ordination during a critical period.Thursday's conversation was at least the fourth publicly announced telephone call between the two leaders since late April, following exchanges on April 24, May 23 and May 28, as well as another call on June 3, reflecting the intensity of diplomatic engagement between Doha and Washington on regional security issues.The latest discussion also highlights Qatar's long-standing foreign policy approach, which places dialogue, mediation and diplomacy at the centre of efforts to resolve conflicts and prevent escalation. Qatar has consistently advocated peaceful settlement of disputes through negotiations and has frequently served as a trusted intermediary between parties seeking common ground.The country has played key mediation roles in a number of regional and international files, while maintaining open channels of communication with all sides as part of its efforts to promote stability and security.In recent conversations with the US president, HH the Amir repeatedly stressed the need to prioritise political and diplomatic solutions, support dialogue among all parties, and avoid actions that could lead to further instability. The emphasis on negotiations with Iran is consistent with Qatar's broader position that sustainable solutions can only be achieved through engagement, mutual understanding and respect for international law.The recognition by President Trump of Qatar's support for ongoing diplomatic efforts further underscores Doha's growing role as a regional facilitator and bridge-builder, leveraging its relationships with a wide range of international actors to help create conditions conducive to dialogue, de-escalation and lasting peace. 

Qatar Chamber board member Abdulrahman bin Abduljalil al-Abdulghani recently held a meeting with Uzbekistan’s ambassador to Qatar, Ashraf Khodjaev, to discuss strengthening bilateral economic and commercial ties.The meeting, which was also attended by Qatar Chamber board member Abdullah al-Emadi, centred on enhancing trade relations between the two nations, identifying key areas of mutual co-operation, and exploring investment opportunities across several vital economic sectors.Khodjaev emphasised that Qatar remains a vital partner for Uzbekistan, highlighting the distinguished relations between the two countries which continue to be propelled by the active support of their leaderships.He noted that this strong bond is backed by numerous bilateral cooperation agreements, alongside an ongoing exchange of high-level official visits and commercial delegations.The ambassador outlined the premier investment avenues available in Uzbekistan, pointing specifically to high-growth sectors such as agriculture, food security, tourism, real estate, and manufacturing.He highlighted the ‘New Tashkent City’ mega-project, noting that it offers immense investment potential, particularly for real estate development, and invited Qatari investors to explore and capitalise on these emerging opportunities.For his part, al-Abdulghani said Uzbekistan offers numerous investment opportunities capable of drawing Qatari Qatari investors, emphasising the importance of holding direct meetings with business owners to present these opportunities more broadly.In turn, al-Emadi reiterated that Qatar Chamber highly welcomes deeper cooperation between Qatari companies and their Uzbek counterparts, noting that Qatari investors are eager to explore the opportunities available in the Uzbek market. 

HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad al Muraikhi received a phone call on Thursday from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives Iruthisham Adam.During the call, the two countries discussed bilateral cooperation relations and ways to support and strengthen them, in addition to a number of topics of common interest.

Morocco's foreign minister Nasser Bourita met with UK Minister of State for Business and Trade Chris Bryant, who is currently visiting Morocco.During the meeting, bilateral relations between the two countries were discussed.Bryant clarified in a press statement following the talks that the volume of trade exchanges between the two countries currently stands at about £4.5 billion, expressing hope that this figure would double over the next five to seven years.

Germany has initiated talks with France on strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of nuclear deterrence, as part of the defense and strategic coordination mechanism announced by the two countries last March.Local sources reported that the first round of talks began in Paris, while a second round of talks is expected to be held in Berlin before summer holiday.A statement by the German Chancellery explained that Berlin and Paris agreed on executive steps for the Nuclear Steering Group, including taking concrete steps during the current year, as Germany will participate in French nuclear exercises, and several joint visits to strategic facilities will take place, in addition to the two countries' participation in developing the nuclear defense capabilities of other European countries.Germany will participate for the first time in this type of training next September, with its participation initially being in the form of an observer role. In the later stages, the German army will provide strategic support that is not directly related to nuclear weapons.The joint German-French declaration stressed that the new cooperation does not aim to replace NATO's nuclear deterrence, nor the nuclear participation arrangements to which Germany contributes, but rather to complement them, while the two countries continue to adhere to international law, including the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.The declaration also stressed that German-French cooperation is based on commitment to Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty and Article 42, paragraph 7, of the European Union Treaty, and aims to strengthen European security as a whole, paying particular attention to coordination with the United States, the United Kingdom, and the rest of the allies.Last March, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and French President Emmanuel Macron announced the establishment of a high-level nuclear steering group, to be a bilateral framework for defense dialogue and coordination of strategic actions, including consultation on the appropriate combination of conventional capabilities, missile defense, and French nuclear capabilities. 

Jordan and Qatar have robust and longstanding relations, a senior Jordanian official has said.Speaking to the Qatar News Agency (QNA), Jordan’s Minister of Government Communication Dr Mohammad Momani said that both countries are keen to further develop bilateral relations and strengthen co-operation across various fields in ways that serve the interests of both peoples.His remarks coincide with Jordan's 80th Independence Day, marked annually on May 25.Dr Momani said that Jordan has remained committed since its independence to supporting just Arab causes, primarily the Palestinian cause, and safeguarding Islamic and Christian holy sites in occupied Jerusalem.He added that the Independence Day represents resilience and continuity despite regional challenges, noting that the country has strengthened its constitutional and democratic institutions while pursuing ongoing reform and modernisation efforts focused on citizens' welfare.

His Excellency the PM and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani held a series of telephone calls with regional and international counterparts to discuss bilateral relations and Pakistan-led mediation efforts between the US and Iran, alongside co-ordination on broader initiatives to support regional de-escalation.The PM stressed the need for all parties to engage constructively with the ongoing mediation efforts, which would pave the way for addressing the root causes of the crisis through peaceful means and dialogue, leading to a sustainable agreement that prevents renewed escalation.In his call with Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah al-Saud, the two sides reviewed bilateral relations and discussed coordinating efforts to support the mediation aimed at de-escalation.The PM also spoke with Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Adviser of the UAE Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed al-Nahyan, with whom he discussed bilateral co-operation and stressed the importance of supporting ongoing mediation efforts to reach a lasting peace agreement.In a separate call with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nahyan, the two sides discussed co-operative relations between the two countries and ways to support and strengthen them.The PM held a call with Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation and Expatriates Badr Abdelatty, during which the two sides discussed bilateral co-operation relations and ways to further strengthen them.In his conversation with Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Abbas Araghchi, discussions focused on ongoing efforts to achieve peace and reinforce regional security and stability. The PM reaffirmed Qatar's unwavering support for efforts aimed at reaching a comprehensive agreement to end the crisis.He further emphasised that freedom of navigation remains a fundamental principle that cannot be compromised, warning that any closure of the Strait of Hormuz or attempts to use it as a means of pressure would further deepen the crisis and threaten the vital interests of countries across the region. He also underscored the importance of adhering to international law and the principles of good neighbourliness.The PM discussed bilateral relations and regional diplomatic efforts with Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan, with the talks focusing on strengthening co-operation between Doha and Ankara.He also spoke with Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom Yvette Cooper, discussing bilateral co-operation and ways to further strengthen it.The PM concluded the round of calls with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs of Jordan Ayman Safadi, exploring ways of strengthening co-operation between the two countries. 

Bilateral trade volume between India and Qatar is projected to remain “highly consistent and touch the $14bn to $15bn bracket for the 2025–26 financial year,” anchored by swift supply chain rerouting and state-retail collaboration to bypass regional transit disruptions, India’s top diplomat in Qatar has said.According to Indian ambassador Vipul, while “extraordinary global circumstances have introduced clear delays,” alongside “heightened freight and insurance costs,” the underlying fundamentals of the bilateral economic corridor remain robustly insulated from external shocks.Vipul explained that a necessary reworking of supply lines is currently underway, with alternative shipping routes actively being utilised by commercial stakeholders to secure steady imports into the Qatari market.Citing the closure of the Strait of Hormuz following the US-Israel war on Iran, Vipul said: “This operational flexibility has allowed traders to successfully navigate the heightened transit challenges that have emerged across the Gulf region since February 28.”The ambassador highly commended the proactive stance of the Qatari Government, stating that extensive public efforts have successfully ensured that all essential items, consumer commodities, and products have remained continuously available.Vipul emphasised that this public sector efficiency, working in tandem with private enterprises, has given both local and expatriate communities “full confidence to carry on with daily life normally,” maintaining market optimism ahead of the Eid al-Adha festive season.He pointed out that the collaborative buffer mechanism was further highlighted by LuLu Group’s operational decision to absorb a portion of the increased logistics costs rather than transferring the financial impact onto domestic consumers.“We must be highly appreciative of the extensive efforts made by all public authorities in Qatar. Daily life has remained more or less normal for residents here, and I am confident that this stability will continue in the coming weeks and months.“Alongside the primary and highly commendable efforts of the Qatari authorities, all stakeholders have worked in tandem to ensure that essential supplies were never depleted during these trying times,” Vipul explained.Vipul noted that the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), India’s state-backed agricultural export body, collaborated closely with the Embassy of India here and LuLu Group’s retail management to ensure that a diverse showcase of more than 40 distinct mango varieties arrived safely in Doha despite the ongoing regional crisis.On Qatar-India trade, Vipul said: “The broader trade structure remains underpinned by a balanced exchange of strategic commodities, led by large-scale energy supplies from Doha to New Delhi, alongside a steadily diversifying basket of Indian food and industrial exports.”He added: “Consolidated data sets for the full financial year are still being compiled, the operational continuity witnessed across the local retail sector provides strong empirical evidence of the corridor’s long-term commercial stability.” 

His Excellency the Minister of State for Energy Affairs, Eng Saad bin Sherida al-Kaabi, met Thursday with the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Ekperikpe Ekpo, reports QNA. During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and co-operation between the two countries in the energy fields, as well as ways to develop them. 

His Excellency the Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed al-Kuwari met in Paris with chief executives of major French companies that are members of the Qatar-France Economic Association (Qadran), during a roundtable organised by the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the French Republic.During the meeting, discussions focused on ways to strengthen the framework of joint co-operation and further consolidate bilateral relations between the State of Qatar and the French Republic, in addition to reviewing key investment opportunities and economic developments of mutual interest.The meeting also discussed the importance of enhancing economic partnerships between both sides in a manner that supports investment growth and broadens prospects for co-operation between Qatari and French institutions.Qadran is an independent non-profit organisation established in 2015. Its membership includes leading Qatari commercial institutions operating in France, alongside major French companies operating in the State of Qatar and influential economic figures.The organisation aims to host annual academic and social events that promote dialogue and the exchange of perspectives between Qatari and French companies, providing a platform for multilateral economic discussions among senior officials and decision-makers. 

His Excellency the Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah al-Ghanim held separate meetings Tuesday with the ambassadors Varlam Avaliani (Georgia) and Juha Mustonen (Finland).During the meetings, bilateral co-operation and relations between the nations were discussed, alongside ways to support and develop them, particularly in the parliamentary field.HE al-Ghanim emphasised the importance of strengthening co-ordination and co-operation with the Georgian and Finnish parliaments, as well as activating communication between parliamentary friendship groups.
