HH the Amir issues decree inviting Shura Council to convene for 1st regular session of 2nd legislative term

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani issued on Thursday Decree No. 98 of 2025 inviting the Shura Council to convene for the first regular session of the second legislative term, corresponding to the 54th annual session, on Tuesday 29th of Rabi' Al-Thani 1447 AH, corresponding to Oct. 21, 2025. The Decree is effective from the date of issue and is to be published in the official gazette.

Palestinian President welcomes western recognition of the State of Palestine at Two-State Solution Conference

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas welcomed the official announcement by France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Malta, Andorra, and Monaco of their recognition of the independent and sovereign State of Palestine. In his remarks, Abbas called the move a significant and necessary step toward achieving a just and lasting peace in accordance with international legitimacy.Abbas emphasized that the recognition of Palestine's right to self-determination, freedom, and independence would pave the way for the realization of the two-state solution.Abbas also underscored that the immediate priority is to secure a ceasefire in Gaza, allow humanitarian aid to reach those in need, release all hostages and prisoners, ensure a full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, enable the State of Palestine to take full responsibility for its affairs, start recovery and reconstruction, and halt settlement activity and settler terrorism.France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Malta, Andorra, and Monaco made their official recognition of the State of Palestine during the High-Level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, held at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

Qatar delivers message to ICAO regarding Israeli attack

The State of Qatar has delivered an official message to the President of the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) concerning the armed attack carried out by Israel against residential premises of several members of Hamas' political bureau in Doha on September 9, 2025, which resulted in a number of martyrs and injuries.The message was delivered by Qatar's Permanent Representative to the ICAO, Essa Abdullah Al Maliki.The message stated that this attack constitutes a blatant violation of the sovereignty of the State of Qatar and the provisions of the Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation, affirming that Qatar retains all its rights under international law.

HH the Amir leaves Amman

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani left Amman on Wednesday, following an official visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.HH the Amir was seen off upon departure from Marka International Airport by King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.Also present at the departure were Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Al Safadi, Director of the Office of HM the King Eng. Alaa Batayneh, Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yarub Qudah, Minister of Finance Abdulhakim Al Shibli, Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Major General Yousef Al Hunaiti, Director of the General Intelligence Directorate Major General Ahmad Husni, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Sheikh Saud bin Nasser Al-Thani, HAmbassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the State of Qatar Zaid Mufleh Al Lawzi, and a number of senior officials.His Highness the Amir was accompanied by His Ecellency Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, along with an official delegation.

HH the Amir arrives in Amman

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani arrived on Wednesday in Amman, on an official visit to the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. HH the Amir was welcomed upon arrival at Marka International Airport by King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.Also, present were Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan, Speaker of the House of Representatives Ahmed Al Safadi, President of the Judicial Council Mahmoud Ababneh, President of the Constitutional Court Mohammad Ghazou, Royal Court Chief Yousef Issawi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Al Safadi, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Jordan Sheikh Saud bin Nasser Al-Thani and Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Qatar Zaid Mufleh Al Lawzi, along with a number of Their Excellencies members of the government, ranking civilian and military officials, and members of the Qatari Embassy.HH the Amir was accorded an official reception ceremony upon his arrival.His Highness the Amir is accompanied by the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani and an official delegation.Four F-16 fighter jets from the Royal Jordanian Air Force escorted HH the Amir's plane as it entered Jordanian airspace, and artillery fired 21 rounds to welcome His Highness' visit.

QFMA adopts official emblem in new corporate identity

The Qatar Financial Markets Authority (QFMA) has changed its official logo, 20 years after its establishment under Law No 33 of 2005.It joined the umbrella of the governmental visual identity of Qatar after adopting the official emblem of the state in its new corporate identity.This move reflects the well-established and close connection between it and the national identity and further enhances its institutional presence both locally and internationally.
