The Foreign Ministers of the State of Qatar, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Republic of Indonesia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Republic of Turkiye, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the Arab Republic of Egypt condemned in the strongest terms the Israeli escalation at Al Aqsa Mosque / Al Haram Al Sharif, particularly the continued mass settlers' incursions led by extremist Israeli ministers, into Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Haram Al-Sharif under the protection of the Israeli forces, the raising of the Israeli flag within its courtyards, the erection by Israeli police of two tents, and all other inflammatory acts. They stressed that these provocative and unacceptable actions constitute a flagrant violation of international law, the relevant United Nations resolutions, and the historical and legal status quo at the holy sites in occupied East Jerusalem. The Ministers further deplored and condemned in the strongest terms the illegal and extremist acts of incitement, incursions, mobilisation calls and violence by Israeli extremist ministers and groups. The Ministers warned that these provocative actions fuel hatred and extremism, and obstruct efforts to advance a just and lasting peace on the basis of the two-State solution. They stressed that the restrictions on access to the Old City of Jerusalem and its places of worship, coupled with discriminatory and arbitrary access restrictions to the other places of worship in the Old City constitute a flagrant violation of international law, including international humanitarian law, and an unlawful attempt to alter the historical and legal status quo.They stressed that Israel has no sovereignty over occupied Jerusalem or its Islamic and Christian holy sites. The Foreign Ministers further condemned the continued and systematic violations and measures carried out by Israel, the occupying Power, aimed at altering the historical, legal, and demographic character of occupied East Jerusalem and undermining the sanctity and status of its Islamic and Christian holy sites. They reaffirmed their categorical rejection of any attempts to alter the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites, and stressed its preservation while recognising the special role of the historical Hashemite custodianship in this regard. The Ministers reiterated that the entire area of Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al Haram Sharif, which amounts to 144 dunams, is a place of worship exclusively for Muslims, and that the Jerusalem Endowments and Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs Department, affiliated with the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, is the legal entity with exclusive jurisdiction to administer the affairs of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Haram Al-Sharif and to regulate entry thereto. The Ministers called on Israel, as the occupying power, to immediately remove access restrictions to the Old City of Jerusalem, and refrain from obstructing Muslim worshippers' access to the Mosque. They also called on the international community to adopt a firm position that compels Israel to halt its ongoing violations and illegal practices against Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, as well as its violations of the sanctity of these holy places.

The Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs has inaugurated Qais bin Saad bin Ubadah Mosque in the Muaither area, the first smart mosque in the State of Qatar. This milestone reflects the Ministry's steadfast efforts to upgrade mosque infrastructure and services in line with evolving requirements, and underscores Awqaf's commitment to innovation in enhancing mosque operations. The move marks the expansionist plan the Ministry is carrying out to construct mosques in new residential areas as a forward-looking response to urban growth and the rapid increase in the number of residents, thereby strengthening the mosque's role as a combined religious and societal beacon. The Qais bin Saad bin Ubadah Mosque is an advanced model of smart mosques that integrates cutting-edge technologies designed to optimize operational efficiency and rationalize resource consumption. These features are implemented through smart electricity and water consumption control systems, which ultimately achieve the optimal utilization of resources and leverage solar power to generate clean energy required for operating the mosque's air-conditioning and lighting systems. This, in turn, reduces reliance on conventional resources, while establishing a system for recycling ablution water to be repurposed for toilet facilities and irrigating the landscaped areas surrounding the mosque perimeter. Intriguingly, this measure supports environmental sustainability and creates green spaces surrounding the mosque, while contributing to reduced carbon emissions and improved environmental quality. Assistant Undersecretary for Da'wah and Mosques Affairs at the Ministry of Endowments, Mohammed bin Hamad Al Kuwari, emphasized that this project is the outgrowth of constructive collaboration between Awqaf and the private sector. He clarified that such partnerships have helped leverage smart systems and modern technologies in mosque construction, thereby strengthening implementation efficiency and output quality. The Ministry is diligently moving forward with this expansion by constructing additional smart mosques nationwide in the upcoming phase, Al Kuwari assured, noting that this is part of its strategic plan to keep pace with urban evolution and meet societal needs. Overall, this inauguration aligns with the Ministry's Strategic Objectives 2025-2030, which provide for upgrading mosque infrastructure in accordance with top-tier standards, enhancing the quality of religious services, leveraging cutting-edge technologies in mosque management, and achieving sustainability in endowment and utility projects. In addition, this flagship project translates this thrust into practice, as it combines timeless Islamic architecture with cutting-edge technology, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and the worshipers' experience. Subsequently, the project is in sync with Qatar National Vision 2030, which gives overriding priority to achieving sustainable development and improving quality of life. This is achieved by strengthening enduring infrastructure, consolidating religious principles and cultural identity, as well as reinforcing the role of religious institutions in building people and society.

The Muslim World League strongly condemned the continued incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli forces, as well as the raising of Israeli flags within the mosque compound.In a statement, the organisation denounced the provocative actions, warning that they violate the historic and legal status of Jerusalem, undermine peace efforts, and threaten regional stability.The League also urged the international community to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities by taking immediate action to halt such violations.

The State of Qatar condemned the storming of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli extremists, along with the provocative actions carried out under the protection of the occupation forces, describing it as a flagrant violation of international law, an unacceptable provocation of the feelings of millions of Muslims around the world, and a dangerous attempt to impose a new reality in the occupied Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian sanctities.In a statement issued Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that Al-Aqsa Mosque is an exclusively Muslim place of worship and that all unilateral measures aimed at altering the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and its sanctities are null and void under international law.The Ministry warned that the continuation of such violations and repeated provocations could fuel further violence and escalation in the region, undermining prospects for de-escalation and stability. It renewed its call on the international community to act urgently and compel Israel, as the occupying power, to stop its ongoing violations against the Palestinian people and their holy sites and to comply with relevant international resolutions.The Ministry also reiterated the State of Qatar's firm and supportive stance on the Palestinian cause and the steadfastness of the brotherly Palestinian people, based on ending the occupation and enabling the Palestinian people to attain their legitimate rights, foremost among them the establishment of an independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The foreign ministers of Qatar, Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt have condemned repeated Israeli violations of the historical and legal status quo of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, particularly ongoing settler incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque under police protection and the raising of the Israeli flag within its courtyards.In a joint statement, the ministers called the provocations a flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law, and an unacceptable affront to Muslims worldwide. They rejected any attempts to alter the existing status quo in Jerusalem, while acknowledging the special role of Jordan's historic Hashemite custodianship over the holy sites.The ministers reaffirmed that the entire 144-dunam area of Al-Aqsa Mosque is a place of worship exclusively for Muslims, and that the Jerusalem Waqf and Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs Department — affiliated with the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf — holds exclusive legal jurisdiction over the mosque's administration and access.They also condemned Israeli settlement expansion, including approval of more than 30 new settlements, as a violation of international law, UN Security Council resolutions, and the International Court of Justice's 2024 advisory opinion, and denounced escalating settler violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, including attacks on schools and children, calling for accountability.The ministers stressed that Israel holds no sovereignty over occupied Palestinian territory and that annexation attempts and forced displacement are wholly unacceptable, warning that such measures undermine the two-state solution and obstruct peace efforts.They called on the international community to compel Israel to halt its escalation, and reiterated their unwavering support for Palestinian self-determination and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Israeli settlers attempted to set fire to a mosque in the occupied West Bank village of Tell early Monday, the Palestinian Authority's ministry of religious affairs said."The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs condemned the attempt by a group of settlers to set fire to a part of the Abu Bakr al-Siddiq Mosque in the village of Tell, near Nablus, and the writing of racist slogans on its walls", the ministry said in a statement.The ministry noted an increase in attacks on mosques in the West Bank, totalling 45 in 2025."The burning of part of the mosque clearly demonstrates the barbarity reached by the Israeli racist incitement machine toward Islamic and Christian holy sites in Palestine", the ministry said.An AFP journalist on the ground reported burnt carpets, broken front doors, walls and windows blackened by fire. However there was no structural damage as the fire did not catch and spread throughout the whole building.Israel's military said in a statement to AFP that army and police forces "were dispatched to the area of Tell following a report and footage that was received after the fact regarding suspects who set fire to a mosque and sprayed graffiti.""No injuries were reported", and the forces are searching for the suspects, the statement added.Ghassan Daghlas, governor of the Nablus region which includes Tell, condemned the attack in a video posted on social media."They burned the mosque, and we are the ones rebuilding it. This is our land -- the land of Palestine", he said, a garden hose in hand to wash off debris at the site.Excluding Israeli-annexed east Jerusalem, more than 500,000 Israelis live in West Bank settlements and outposts, which are illegal under international law.Around 3mn Palestinians live in the territory, which Israel has occupied since 1967.While most Israeli settlers do not engage in violence, a small but militant fringe has been linked to attacks on Palestinians.The current Israeli government, considered one of the most right-wing in the country's history, has fast-tracked settlement expansion and recognised some outposts.

Dozens of settlers stormed the courtyards of Al Aqsa Mosque on Thursday under the protection of the Israeli occupation police.Sources in Jerusalem said that groups of settlers stormed Al Aqsa Mosque in the morning through the Mughrabi Gate, under the protection of the occupation police, carrying out provocative tours in the mosque's courtyards, during which they performed public Talmudic rituals.Settler groups continue their daily incursions into Al Aqsa Mosque, except on Fridays and Saturdays, in two periods, morning and evening, as part of ongoing attempts to impose a temporal and spatial division of the mosque.2025 ended in Jerusalem with a widespread escalation in Israeli occupation violations that affected both people and places, with December being one of the most dangerous months, especially in terms of demolition operations and attacks on Al Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalemites.
