A Palestinian man was martyred on Monday by Israeli gunfire in the Gaza Strip, according to medical sources.The Palestinian News and Information Agency (WAFA) reported that the Israeli occupation forces fatally shot the man in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, northeast of Gaza City.In a separate incident, a girl was injured by Israeli army fire west of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, WAFA added.Israeli violations have continued since the ceasefire came into effect on October 11, resulting in 484 deaths, 1,321 injuries, and the recovery of 713 bodies.

His Excellency Attorney-General Dr Issa bin Saad al-Jafali al-Nuaimi ordered the arrest of a plastic and cosmetic surgeon and the director of a medical centre, and their referral to the competent criminal court to face charges related to the offences attributed to them.The Public Prosecution had launched investigations into a case involving the illegal practice of the medical profession without a licence. The first defendant was apprehended by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) for practicing medicine at a private medical centre despite having been suspended from practicing the profession by the competent department at the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), pursuant to a decision issued by the Public Prosecution in the interest of the investigation.This followed the prosecution's review of several complaints filed against him over medical errors allegedly committed. The second defendant, who serves as the medical director responsible for managing the centre where the first defendant was working, was also arrested for allowing him to practice medicine at the medical centre despite being fully aware of the suspension.HE the Attorney General ordered that both defendants be remanded in custody and referred to the competent criminal court to be tried and punished in accordance with the provisions of the Law Regulating the Practice of the Medical Profession.

The health situation of the Palestinians languishing in the Israeli occupation's custody is deteriorating due to persistent medical negligence, severe shortages of medicines, and lack of medical follow-up, the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs in Palestine reported in a statement Wednesday. The statement further explained that this situation has engendered numerous morbidities among the prisoners, with the commission's legal crew documenting an extremely complex humanitarian situation engulfing them in various Israeli dungeons. Following field visits to these prisons, the statement highlighted that the situation reflected a harsh, dehumanised environment at the detention and interrogation sites, with repeated complaints reported about daily repression and intimidation, marked by dehumanised inspections and collective punishment, the statement warned.**media[397273]**After the crew huddled with those prisoners, they complained about severe shortages of blankets and clothing, as well as being constantly bereft of familial visits and subjected to sudden relocation between sections and prisons in a repeated manner, which is manipulated as a vehicle for psychological and physical pressure. The Palestinian Prisoners' Media Office reported that the Israeli occupation has ramped up repression measures during December, with prison units conducting cascading campaigns throughout the month, marked by beatings and collective dehumanisation against the prisoners. The office further noted heightened and harsh solitary confinements amid extreme cold and deprivation of basic life necessities, holding the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the safety of those prisoners, as well as the consequences of the policy of isolation and repression. It called for international and human rights organizations to spring into action to halt the crimes inside the prisons. 

Qatar Charity has concluded a project to operate and support Bab Al-Hawa Hospital after six months of continuous work, from July to December 2025. The project restored the operational capacity of this vital medical facility, enabling it to provide free and safe medical services to tens of thousands of residents in northwestern Syria. Qatar Charity said in a statement Tuesday that, since its establishment on January 1, 2013, Bab Al-Hawa Hospital has formed a fundamental medical lifeline in the region, providing its services to more than 2.5mn beneficiaries over 13 years. Today, it stands as one of the largest and most important referral hospitals relied upon by the Idlib Health Directorate for the treatment of advanced and critical cases, particularly among displaced populations in camps, the statement added. With population growth and increasing pressure on the health sector, the hospital has gradually expanded to include high-quality specialised departments such as advanced surgery, intensive care, paediatric surgery, kidney dialysis, endoscopy, specialised outpatient clinics, as well as laboratories, a blood bank, and other vital medical units. Qatar Charity pointed out, that over the past two years, the hospital experienced a suspension of financial and medical support, which directly threatened the continuity of its operations and essential services, including the functioning of sensitive departments, securing medicines, supporting medical staff, and maintaining equipment. Local officials said that, since the beginning of 2025, the hospital has resumed operating at full capacity, with the number of services reaching up to 20,000 medical services per month during the project period. This response came considering the significant increase in patient numbers following the closure of several other service centres in northern Idlib. The support included covering the salaries of medical, nursing, and technical staff to ensure operational stability, providing medicines and consumables for emergency cases and specialised surgeries, in addition to reactivating vital departments such as internal medicine clinics, surgery, operating rooms, and kidney dialysis. In this context, Director of Bab Al-Hawa Hospital, Dr Yassin Alloush, said, "We extend our sincere thanks to Qatar Charity for this generous support, which was not merely financial assistance, but rather a genuine humanitarian partnership that enabled the hospital to continue fulfilling its mission. Over six months of support, we were able to double our capacity to receive patients and provide surgical and specialised services that were at risk of being suspended."
