HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani stressed that celebrating the State of Qatar's National Day this year comes at a time when the country is developing further, thanks to the achievements of its people under the leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani. Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA) to mark the country's National Day celebrations, he said that Qatar is the home that can help everyone achieve their dreams, adding that it deserves all the sacrifices the people could make to ensure its prosperity and development.
HE the PM said he was pleased that this year's celebrations coincided with Qatar's hosting of all Arabs together to participate at the FIFA Arab Cup 2021. HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior said that the competition, watched by millions of football fans worldwide, was well-organised, adding that Qatar is also set to host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 in a few months, stressing that the country will have the world's eyes on it to witness an exceptional and unique football extravaganza.
HE the PM also called on people and authorities, whether citizens or residents, to give their all to gift the world an unforgettable sporting event that would be engraved in the memory of all people. He stressed that the World Cup will be an historic opportunity for the world to get to know the people of Qatar, and that it would be an opportunity to express who Qatar's people are and what their values are, to ensure that Qatar is an ancestral meadow and a maker of glory, one generation after the other.
