An official of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey Investment Office has underscored the significance of further collaboration between Qatar and Turkey, saying this is among the key initiatives that would spur economic growth between the two countries.
Country adviser Levent Sadik Kucukdaban made the statement during a meeting with officials of Qatari firm, KON Group, which was held recently to discuss plans that would enhance the growth of bilateral relations between Qatar and Turkey.
“The key initiative would have a tremendous positive effect, such as attracting business investments from both countries, increasing business volumes, and generating jobs, as well as industries growth and progress,” said Kucukdaban.
Conversely, Kucukdaban also emphasised the importance of attracting Qatari foreign direct investment (FDI) to Turkey and said, “Investing in Turkey will also open free access to the domestic market and the EU market.”
Kucukdaban also enumerated “10 solid reasons” to invest in Turkey, which would “significantly benefit the two countries.”
He noted that Turkey has a robust economy and provides access to the domestic EU markets, as well as a strategic location for investments. The country also offers “favourable demographics, skilled workforce with cost advantage, continuous reform process, business-friendly environment, lucrative incentives, and benign R&D ecosystem,” among other opportunities.
KON Group also held a meeting with Turkish ambassador Mustafa Goksu to discuss initiatives to forge business collaboration and ways to closely exchange business opportunities between Qatar and Turkey.
“The Turkish Embassy in Qatar will be more than happy to extend fruitful collaboration with KON to open many new business opportunities between the two sisterly countries, and to take it to the next level,” said Goksu.
Speaking on the two meetings, KON chairman Mohamed Massani said the current global challenges has encouraged the company to adapt better ways to introduce initiatives under KON Group’s ‘business diplomacy programme’, a partnership initiative with different embassies based in Qatar that aims to strengthen bilateral trade relations with different countries.
“KON is now opening to Europe and Asia, and Turkey is the best, geopolitically-located country to start with,” Massani pointed out, adding that the company working towards helping its partner countries, small and large companies to build a solid, sustainable, and strategic alliance in business partnership.”
KON chairperson Hissa al-Suwaidi also said the company “will closely work on creating a strong partnership with official Turkish media corporations for the exchange of knowhow and to create one media window where business and cultural communication can be exchanged.”
