Barwa Real Estate’s latest initiative will highlight the company's commitment to creating value and adding a human dimension to real estate projects, by continuously contributing to the highest standards of sustainability, HE the Minister of Culture and Sports Salah bin Ghanim bin Nasser al-Ali has said.
He made the statement on Sunday during the launch ceremony of Madinatna, a residential city for families, and Barahat Al Janoub, a workers accommodation project.
The two upcoming projects are located in Al Wakra city.
Barwa’s upcoming projects consolidate the principles of its strategic partnership with the Qatar government, HE al-Ali stressed.
Further, he assured that Barwa will continue to develop pioneering residential cities and create sustainable communities, which reflect the growth in population and urban development across Qatar, and aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030.
Barwa Real Estate acting group chief executive Abdulla bin Jobara al-Romaihi said: “Madinatna and Barahat Al Janoub will provide residential communities with designs inspired by traditional Qatari architecture and equipped with the latest smart city technologies.
“These modern, sustainable residential cities developed by Barwa will provide innovative solutions and services to different segments of the Qatar community, with residential environments that meet the highest standards and specifications, required by the local market for residential housing and maximising shareholders’ returns.”
During the event, al-Romaihi and UrbaCon Trading and Contracting (UCC) managing director Ramez al-Khayyat signed a contract awarding the construction works of the two projects to UCC.
The signing ceremony was held in the presence of HE al-Ali, who is also chairman of Barwa Real Estate, Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy secretary-general Hassan al-Thawadi, Public Works Authority (Ashghal) president Dr Saad bin Ahmed al-Mohannadi, and UCC chairman Moutaz al-Khayyat.
Al-Romaihi stressed that Barwa is keen to create support Qatar companies that are experienced in the field of real estate development.
He said: “All Barwa projects being developed for workers are part of the directives of our wise leadership, aspiring for Qatar to demonstrate a distinctive model in terms of taking care of workers and providing them with a high-standard living environment, as well as bridging the demand in the local market for such projects and supporting Qatar’s preparations to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup.”
Ramez al-Khayyat expressed gratitude to Barwa for having confidence in UCC.
He also affirmed the company’s dedication towards executing the project on time, and with the highest safety and quality standards.
After the signing ceremony, Barwa officials accompanied HE the Minister and other VIPs on a tour of a furnished full-scale mock-up of the Madinatna project for a glimpse into the final realistic perspective of residential units there.
