As many as 970,000 Qatar residents registered their national address as per the law since the start of the process, Lt Col Dr Abdallah Zayed al-Sahli, head of the National Address Section at the Public Security Department, announced.
He told local Arabic daily Arrayah that 163,000 Qataris, 807,000 expatriates and 26,000 companies have registered so far. Due to the precautionary and preventive measures currently in place to fight the spread of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19), the registration for national address is available only through Metrash 2 and the Ministry of Interior (MoI) website.
Lt Col al-Sahli pointed out that 90% of the registrations were conducted through Metrash 2. He also expected that the number of registrations would cross 1mn within next week.
The official stressed that in case of any change to the registered address, the person concerned should modify it accordingly through Metrash2 or the MoI website as soon as possible.
