Katara Hospitality has been consistently working with its hotel operators in the country and overseas in taking precautionary measures to stop the spread of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19), according to a statement.
“Everyone’s health and safety is the highest priority. We have been working relentlessly with our hotel operators in Qatar and internationally implementing strict hygiene protocols and ensuring the teams are prepared for any suspected coronavirus cases, should they occur,” the global hotel owner, developer and operator based in Qatar told Gulf Times.
“We are continuously in contact with the government officials and monitor the situation carefully to be fully compliant with the latest precautionary guidelines, in all the jurisdictions in which we operate” Katara Hospitality said.
Katara Hospitality operating hotels have introduced a broad range of measures to prevent the spread of the virus such as the creation of hygiene commissions in every hotel, which oversees the implementation of the hygiene measures through with a dedicated task force.
All employees are continuously informed about the latest hygiene measures via posters, personal briefings, e-mail and a corporate app in order to be to be fully compliant with the latest guidelines.
Hotels have also placed hand disinfection stations in all relevant areas and strongly encourage practical measures such as regular hand washing, social distancing, etc. All employees displaying possible symptoms have been instructed to stay at home and self-isolate.
“We are closely monitoring the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention and World Health Organisations’ statements regarding the novel coronavirus cases and following guidelines from these agencies and the local health departments,” Marriott International said in a press statement.
“The wellbeing of our guests and associates is of paramount importance. We are waiving cancellation fees for hotel stays through March 31, 2020 for guests travelling to or from the following locations: Asia Pacific: Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, French Polynesia, Maldives, India, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, New Caledonia, Samoa; Europe: Italy,” the statement added.
