The spectators at the third Aspire Lake Festival were treated to a fantastic light show Friday with the theme ‘Tree of Life’ that culminated with spectacular fireworks at Aspire Tower.
The galleries around Aspire Lake were fully packed with hundreds of spectators who had gathered at the venue well ahead of the show. Meant for all ages, the event entertained the crowd with various formations of light at the centre of the lake and showcasing the growth of Doha as a thriving city.
A mesmerising fireworks in different colours and formations followed. The festival featured musical and artistic entertainment performed on the Aspire Lake. The world-class show took the audience on a magical journey filled with surprises, fun, and excitement.
The scintillating show started with a group of children playing to soothing music with the lyrics, ‘light the candle for peace; light the candle for love’ and released white balloons towards the end.
At the backdrop of the performance, scenes kept changing, showing how the tree of life nurtured the living of the people and contributed to the development of Doha.
The subsequent segments of the show described the growth of the city and the last one showed how the city has emerged as a dynamic and happening place. The performers also made a formation with the word 'DOHA.' The backdrop also showed the changing face of Doha and highlighted the skyscrapers at Doha Corniche and West Bay.
The beautifully synchronised performance made the spectators clap again and again and enjoy the performance thoroughly. They, time and again, cheered the performers and savoured the show.
An audience member said it was a great treat for the eyes. “I had come very early with my family so that I could get a convenient seat to watch the show. My children had a great time enjoying the surprises in the show and the fireworks that followed the show, was a greater treat after a fantastic show,” he noted.
