Esrar Race has been attracting a large number of participants from Qatar, the region and other countries across the globe annually.

Nearly 900 participants will take part in Esrar Race 2019, scheduled on November 30 at Aspire Park, making this edition of the obstacle course event in Qatar the largest so far.
The annual event, held under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, is organised by Diverse Sports in partnership with the Qatar National Tourism Council.
“This year’s race will be bigger than any of our previous events. By creating more categories, we are aiming to appeal to everyone interested in partaking or watching fun sporting events,” Diverse Sports CEO Khalid al-Kuwari said in a press statement.
“The kids’ race is also a great addition as it encourages families to do fun and active activities together,” he added.
Diverse Sports is a Qatari company that seeks to deliver quality sporting events in Qatar that engage with Qatar’s community and beyond.
Esrar Race, which has been attracting a large number of participants from Qatar, the region and other countries across the globe every year, will be giving away a total of 12 prizes this year.
According to the organisers, categories for the event include team, female and male individual, and masters (45 years-old and above).
The race features 20 obstacles and covers 5km, giving participants “an exciting fitness challenge, testing endurance, strength, speed, and stamina.” The first batch of runners will begin at 8am while the last hit starts at 10:30am.
The latest edition of Esrar will also feature the Kids Race, a 1km mini obstacle course for children aged 5-12 years, with all finishers receiving medals.
Organisers also announced that Vodafone Qatar is the Gold Sponsor of this year’s Esrar Race.
“Vodafone Qatar has a long history of supporting sports in the country and playing an active part in events that bring people together. Esrar Race 2019 is set to be a fantastic community sporting event and we are delighted to work with Diverse Sports to help bring it to life,” said Vodafone Qatar COO Diego Camberos.
Esrar Race has also witnessed Qatar’s Olympic champion, IAAF Athlete of the Year and IAAF 2019 high jump gold medalist Mutaz Essa Barshim taking part (as an honorary ambassador) in the 2018 edition of the event.

Esrar 2018 saw over 500 players and enthusiasts, including professionals, participating in different categories.
