Bedaya Centre for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (Bedaya Center), a joint initiative by Qatar Development Bank and Silatech, concluded the inaugural episode of the 2019 edition of its annual Summer Camp.
The camp took place from June 30 until July 11 and saw the participation of a large number of students in age group of 16 to 24 years. Meanwhile, the second episode of the 2019 edition began yesterday and will continue until July 25.
The Summer Camp included visits to successful projects owned by local entrepreneurs where students had the opportunity to work temporally and explore avenues for job shadowing.
Further, a series of workshops was also held to highlight the attributes behind successful projects such as ideation, value proposition, marketing strategy, business model, development strategy, financial management and funding requirements. These workshops offered
participants the platform to learn the various aspects needed to kick off their future projects and ensure their continuity, Bedaya said in a statement.
Similarly, participants were given the opportunity to engage face to face with a group of entrepreneurs who excelled in their own projects or brands. Moreover, they had the chance to contribute in many activities, events and leisure trips that enriched their experience during the camp period.
During the Summer Camp, the participants also competed among each other to present ideas for different projects. These projects will be displayed in the final exhibition, which will be held after the completion of the second episode of the 2019 edition of the Bedaya Summer Camp.
On this occasion, Reem al-Sowaidi, general manager of Bedaya Centre, said: "The Bedaya Summer Camp has become a yearly event eagerly awaited by many students to get to know closely about job shadowing and the working environment, take advantage of their leisure time during the summer holidays and spend special times. Moreover, the Summer Camp aims to help participants have a better understanding of entrepreneurship, its importance, how to analyse data - reflecting the market needs of different types of products and solutions.
“During the camp, we managed to instil the spirit of leadership in our youth, who are the foundation of the future by helping them develop their knowledge, skills and experience through a number of educational workshops. The camp provided participants with the opportunity
