Many children had the opportunity to watch and interact with their favourite DC Comics superheroes during a live show featuring four members of The Justice League at the Mall of Qatar’s Ooredoo Stage on Thursday. The interactive live show, which runs daily at 2pm, 5pm, and 9pm, is part of the mall’s five-day festivities to celebrate Eid al-Fitr. It also includes a ‘meet and greet’ with Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and The Flash.

During the show, many young children were thrilled to participate in the “training sessions” led by Wonder Woman and Batman, who demonstrated how to execute defensive skills and other superhero moves. The audience was also delighted to hear the four members of The Justice League as they narrated their backstories, explaining their different types of superpowers and how they got them.

Aside from “training” with Wonder Woman and Batman, the children helped the Justice League “rescue” the audience and other spectators at the mall from a “laughing gas attack” launched by The Joker during the show by flapping their arms to fan out the “fumes".

After the performance, the kids were treated to a meet and greet, allowing them to get up close with their favourite superheroes. The activity was also an opportunity for children and parents to have their photographs taken alongside some of the most popular characters of the DC Universe.

Children can also test their superhero abilities by participating in action-packed games and experiences at the activation areas located in Mall of Qatar’s West Gate 2 and East Gate 2.

In a statement to 'Gulf Times' yesterday, Mall of Qatar CEO Stuart Elder stressed on the mall’s commitment to provide its shoppers “with the best celebrations all year long.” He also underscored the popularity of Mall of Qatar’s Eid Entertainment Programme “among visitors of all ages and nationalities.”

For the entire duration of Eid, Elder said Mall of Qatar has a total of 48 stage shows, which will culminate on June 8. Aside from the Justice League, the mall is staging shows featuring three other famous characters: Nickelodeon’s Dora the Explorer and Sid and Diego from Ice Age.

All three cartoon characters will be performing live from the Ooredoo Stage; Dora’s show will run at 11am, 3.30pm, and 7pm, while Sid and Diego will perform at 11.50am, 4.15pm and 7.40pm, every day during Eid al-Fitr.

In a previous statement, Elder said: “Our entertainment programme represents an opportunity to attract shoppers and its success encourages us to continue bringing more world-class shows to Qatar. “We hope that our visitors will enjoy their favourite characters, some of which will visit the Middle East for the first time, as we continue our dedication to creating wonderful memories for the whole family.”
