Families, relatives and friends of Qatar residents will have the opportunity to visit the country visa-free during the ‘Summer in Qatar’ festival, Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC) secretary-general and Qatar Airways GCEO HE Akbar al-Baker has said.

The festival, dubbed as Qatar’s biggest summer programme organised by QNTC, in collaboration with more than 35 public and private partners, will take place from June 4 to August 16.

“We will even attract families and friends of people living in Qatar and make for them visa free arrival at the Hamad International Airport,” HE al-Baker told reporters at a press conference held at Sharq Village and Spa on Saturday.

“Citizens and residents of Qatar can bring, invite their relatives and friends, any other guests hassle-free into the country during the summer festival,” he added.

The festival will showcase an array of entertainment shows, retails offers, and other summer experiences for two-and-a-half months from the start of Eid al-Fitr to the end of Eid al-Adha.

About the various offerings during the festival, HE al-Baker said people can avail of the hotel discounts, promo vouchers at participating malls, and airfare discounts, among others.

“Aviation and tourism go hand in hand, and this year, we are leveraging the collaboration between these two sectors to offer travellers airfare discounts, promotional travel packages, and exceptional airport experiences throughout the summer,” he said. “Whether they are passing through, visiting friends and family or remaining in Qatar, visitors will experience Qatar anew.”

Meanwhile, Katara Hospitality thanked and underscored its partnership with QNTC for ‘Summer in Qatar’ this year saying it puts “significant importance on initiatives that enhance its diverse offerings while highlighting the country's passion for creating ultimate guest experiences.”
