Four new Monoprix stores will open in various locations across Qatar, including a ‘digitally smart store’ at Msheireb Downtown Doha (MDD), by the end of this year, its regional general manager Sebastien Farhat has said.
The French retail chain was introduced by Ali Bin Ali Group in Qatar in 2013 and now has two stores – in West Bay (Palm Tower) and the largest one at Doha Festival City. Ali Bin Ali Group owns the franchise of Monoprix in the region.
Besides the Monoprix Msheireb hypermarket, Farhat told Gulf Times they will also open a store in Medina Centrale (The Pearl-Qatar), a ‘Monop’ (small) outlet at Porto Arabia (The Pearl-Qatar) and another ‘Monop’ in Al Sadd.
The largest Monoprix store in the country is also expected to rise in Lusail city next year while plans to expand in neighbouring countries in the region like Kuwait is also in the pipeline, he added.
“Qatar is the perfect market for our concept and we will continue supporting local initiatives and entrepreneurs by offering Qatari products in our stores,” he said.
Farhat noted that Monoprix stores also provide customers a wide range of fresh and organic food: from vegetables and fruits to eggs, fish and dairy products, among others.
Scheduled to open in December this year, Monoprix Msheireb will offer an extensive organic range of 12,000 items sourced internationally, as well as a new dine-in Qatari-food concept, sushi bar and pasta & pizza corner.
To be located at the soon-to-open Galleria mall, the new store promises an enhanced customer service using one of the most advanced retail software solutions – set be launched for the first time in the region.
Monoprix will also introduce the ‘Shop and Go - From our store to your door’ free delivery concept, making the shopping experience for customers more convenient and comfortable.
“You make your shopping, you leave everything and we deliver at your convenient timing,” he said. “We want to give our customers refined and exclusive shopping experience.”
Farhat added that they will also continue offering various promotions in an array of food and non food items across their stores.
Founded in 1932, Monoprix is a renowned French brand offering the best of food retailing along with clothing, household items, perfumes, gift items and more.
