Al Sheehaniyah Municipality's Health Control Section conducted a number of inspection campaigns on the various food facilities and outlets at Al Sheehaniyah, Al Jamailah, and the Camel Race areas during the last quarter of January.
The campaign aimed at exercising tighter control on the eateries, restaurants, supermarkets and popular kitchens. As many as 41 different food facilities were inspected to ensure they follow the necessary health and safety regulations when preparing and handling food products. A circular was issued to withdraw a particular food product. Some local and imported food products that were introduced to the local market for the first time were checked to ensure they are safe for consumption.
