HE Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani, former prime minister, yesterday said he hoped Saudi Arabia reviewed the way it handled its external and internal affairs for its own and the region's benefit.
"I hope, as I have hoped previously, that the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia would review the way they deal with their external and internal affairs in a manner governed by wisdom and responsibility. The Gulf countries need Saudi Arabia and hope that no harm comes to it as the stability of Saudi Arabia is stability for the whole region, though it hopes otherwise to my country," he said in a tweet.
HE Sheikh Hamad posted a series of tweets on the matter.
"Officials in Saudi Arabia should think calmly about their friends. What I wanted to say... is that the officials should hold themselves accountable before their conscience regarding what they have gained and what they have lost. Returning to reason and right is virtue. There should be a way out for the brothers' internal and external policies," he continued. "It is not bad for the official to look back at his mistakes but it is bad to persist and continue the mistakes.
"I do not want the big brother to be blackmailed due to some unstudied policies or policies decided in time of anger.
"The management of a country dictates: do not build with one hand and demolish with the other."
