After announcing that Qatar is planning to make 10bn euros worth of investments in Germany at a business forum in Berlin yesterday, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani met with top government and private sector officials to discuss a range of topics.
On the sidelines of the event, His Highness the Amir met with German Minister of Foreign Affairs Heiko Maas and reviewed Qatar and Germany’s strategic relations and prospects for developing them further in various fields.
Maas thanked His Highness the Amir for holding the forum in Berlin this year, and the consequent investment proposals that reflect the strength of economic co-operation between the two countries. Their discussions also dealt with the latest developments on the regional and international arenas, particularly the humanitarian situation in Yemen, Palestine, and Syria.
His Highness the Amir also held talks with German Minister of Economy and Energy Peter Altmaier to review areas of co-operation and means of promoting and developing them, especially in the field of energy, economy, and investment.
His Highness the Amir also met with former German foreign minister Sigmar Gabriel. They exchanged views on the latest developments on the regional and international arenas.
His Highness the Amir also attended a luncheon together with chief executive officers of blue chip companies and 
businessmen in Germany.
The luncheon was also attended by heads of companies and senior officials from the economic, investment and trade fields in Germany. His Highness the Amir was accompanied by members of his official delegation in all 
meetings held on the sidelines.
