The latest edition of ‘Made in Qatar’ slated from November 5 to 9 in Muscat, Oman reflects the size of trade relations between the business sectors of the Sultanate and the state of Qatar, according to Qatar Chamber chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohamed al-Thani.

Sheikh Khalifa said the chamber’s decision to stage the latest edition of ‘Made in Qatar’ in a 10,000sq m area inside the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre forms part of efforts to strengthen ties between Qatari and Omani merchants and producers.
Despite its success in the local market, Sheikh Khalifa underscored the importance of promoting Qatari products abroad. He noted that the Oman edition of ‘Made in Qatar’ will be different from past exhibitions “to comply with the great development in the national industry during the unjust siege imposed on the country for more than a year.”
Recently, the Qatari industry was able to prove its worth to be the top priority of buyers within the country, according to Sheikh Khalifa, who stressed that the number of factories in Qatar increased by 78% during the past year, “which is a great motivation” to provide opportunities for new factories to learn about the latest developments and technologies in the field of manufacturing in Oman and to exchange best practices.
Since the launch of ‘Made in Qatar’, Sheikh Khalifa said the exhibition “gained great interest and saw massive success” because “of the wise leadership’s support for Qatari products” to promote them locally and internationally, “which is a strong motivation to develop this sector further and achieve the desired industrial leap.”
In cooperation with the Ministry of Energy and Industry and Qatar Development Bank, the exhibition aims to market the national industry and to encourage the selling of Qatari products abroad.
In addition, the exhibition aims to introduce to the Omani business sector the developments and technologies used in sectors such as petrochemicals, food, small and medium-sized industries, and furniture, among others.
The exhibition also aims to provide exhibitors and producers the opportunity to meet their Omani counterparts and to discuss the possibilities of establishing partnerships and alliances that would contribute to promoting the Qatari industry to a larger market, especially those focusing on technology.
