The Katara Cultural Village will hold a forum for Qatari farmers and provide a building in Katara in support of the country’s development process.
General Manager of Katara Cultural Village Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti said that the announcement of this initiative comes as a result of the prosperity and transformation of the agricultural sector, which represents a qualitative leap in the national economy, pointing out that this forum will give local farmers the opportunity to meet regularly and consult on agricultural matters and exchange of experiences, commending the achievements of all participants in “Mahaseel Festival II”.
He pointed out that the good impact offered by this festival and its activities encourage the production of national companies and local farms.
On Tuesday night, al-Sulaiti honoured the participants from local farms, national companies specialised in agriculture, as well as a number of officials from the Ministry of Municipality and Environment from the Department of Agricultural Affairs, the Department of Public Parks and Livestock Management and a group of agricultural engineers for their supervisory role and logistical support for the success of the festival.
For their part, the participants valued the efforts to support the local product, praising the incentives and facilities provided.
Mahaseel Festival was staged by Katara from 23 to 30 December, 2017, and continued on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays every week until the end of March 2018.
It supported the national products in various sectors, especially agriculture, livestock and food, in order to achieve sustainability in the farm sector, provide self-sufficiency and support food security.
