Creating totally unique and personalised jewellery and time pieces “is something popular in the Qatar market,” Faberge’s marketing and communications manager Nicola Richards has said.

“Qataris want to know about the piece they are wearing, it is not about just the material value, but about the intricacies and the details of the piece,” she told Gulf Times during the concluding day of the Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition 2018.

The skillful techniques that Faberge pieces feature such as the intricate gems remained a critical part of clients’ collections, which is appealing to them, according to Richards.
She said the brand can create pendants that often inspired or represent the national flag, for instance, but one special feature about Faberge is that it can create completely bespoke items.
“Our in-house designers work very closely and collaboratively with our clients to create a piece that is totally unique to them and therefore extremely personal,” Richards added.
Participating for the sixth time at the DJWE with Alfardan Jewellery, Faberge is known as the world’s most iconic artist jeweller, producing exceptional and jewellery and timepiece collections.

This year, Richards revealed that the brand finds its most popular collection, the modern day interpretation of the Imperial Easter Eggs. “We have our egg pendants here, and you can see the element of surprise.”
“Next to it, we have the bangles and rings and these pieces are very popular because they are distinctively Faberge and very wearable, everyday pieces, they are fun, they are playful and they are contemporary,” she noted. “We don’t want to take it too seriously (for these pieces) since we want create pieces with people that they can just enjoy.”
Apart from Faberge’s high complication collections for men and women, Richards said they also created and brought an exclusive brand new watch to Doha for the first time.
“It is exclusively for Alfardan only, this particular design is the last one that we have, it is hand painted with enamel,” she noted. “It has a diamond baguette bezel and the dial has a very distinctive Faberge egg shape with a green alligator strap for a truly beautiful piece.”
“The movement itself again is exclusive to Faberge by a specialist movement maker from Switzerland, Agenhor. It is a very special timepiece for this particular design and there are only two, the other one was sold,” Richards added.
Faberge also features a special edition timepiece called ‘Flying Tourbillon,’ which is also exclusive only to Alfardan.
The brand was founded in 1842 and has been popular in the jewellery industry since Peter Carl Faberge became official goldsmith to the Russian Imperial Court – the house created exquisite jewels and objects, including the legendary Imperial Easter Eggs.
