Gulf Food Production business development manager Mohamed Ali al-Kuwari said the farm will be built on a 500,000sqm area equipped with the “highest technology” for milk production.
“We have already started this project and hope to finish it in the middle of next year,” al-Kuwari told Gulf Times on Monday. According to him, the company had started connecting its new lines this week to increase production capacity.

“Everything is running according to our plan and we are still working 24 hours a day on maximum capacity to meet the market needs. Last week, we started the distribution of seven new fruit drinks and nectar, and plan to unveil new and healthy products soon.
“Because of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce’s campaign to support national products, we have experienced excellent patronage and display on many shelves around the country. We thank the ministry for its decision to raise government procurement of local products from 30% to 100%,” al-Kuwari pointed out.
He said the company is also supplying 80% of schools in Qatar with juices and other drinks, including Qatar Airways, hospitals and government departments. Also, increased demand prompted the company to add more than 40 delivery trucks to meet market needs, he said.
“We now have a strategic stock of raw materials that is good for more than six months to ensure that we supply the market with high-quality products. We are looking to export our products in the near future but want to fill the gap in the Qatari market first by supporting all community events and activities,” he stressed.
By early next year, al-Kuwari said the company will open its factory to schools as part of an educational tour and familiarisation programme for children.
“Our participation in the German food trade fair, Anuga, with Qatar Development Bank was amazing, and we had many visits from potential clients from all over the world. We also signed a couple of agreements, and we looking forward to the ‘Made in Qatar 2017’ exhibition this coming December,” he added.

A Qatari food processing company will be importing cows from Germany and Australia by mid-2018 as part of plans to build a farm in Qatar with the aim of supplying 45% of the local market’s dairy and juice needs, an official has said.
