Aster DM Healthcare has launched its seventh medical centre in Qatar at Al Gharrafa near the immigration office.
The centre will be officially inaugurated on Wednesday, Dr Sameer Moopen, chief executive officer of Aster in Qatar, announced yesterday.
Aster Medical Centre Al Gharrafa, offers a comprehensive range of medical services including general medicine, ENT, obstetrics and gynaecology and endocrinology with attached pharmacy, X-ray facility and sample collection for diagnostic services.
“The core of our endeavour will always be to provide quality healthcare for all at an affordable cost," Dr Moopen stated at a press conference.
The clinic will be open Saturday to Thursday from 8.30am to 12.30pm and 4pm to 9pm.
Aster is also offering a help desk at its Doha office to provide treatment for patients at its highly specialised hospitals in India.
"About two or three people are availing this service on a weekly basis,” he said while explaining that several Qatari patients have already used this facility and expressed high satisfaction.
"This service will promote medical tourism to India in a big way in coming days,” Dr Moopen claimed.
According to the official, Aster DM Healthcare is likely to open its first hospital in Qatar next month.
“The building is complete. Inspection by the officials is going on. We expect that we will be awarded the operations licence very soon. We already have onboard all the physicians and other medical staff required for the hospital.”
Also present at the press conference were Aster Medical Centre Al Gharrafa's physicians Dr Mohamed Adel al-Chaer (specialist - endocrinology), Dr Kumari Varghese (specialist - obstetrics and gynaecology,) Dr Abdelhafid Boumezbeur (specialist - internal medicine) and Dr Absha Hassan (general physician).
