The ‘Beauty and the Beast’ continues to attract a growing number of spectators who want to enjoy the 30-minute show at Dar Al Salam Mall during the Eid al-Adha celebrations.
Artistes from the UK have returned to Doha for another round of fascinating performances on stage, until September 18 from 4pm to 9.30pm daily.
‘In the last three days we have been getting a lot of calls and people are asking particularly about the popular fairy tale show,’ Wasim Mukadam, the mall’s head of Marketing, Events and Leasing, told Gulf Times.
‘Children love the princess, when we have a photo shoot, everyone wants to get a picture with her,’ he noted. ‘Previously we also had ‘Sleeping Beauty,’ same artistes, but with just a few changes.’
Organised by Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA), he stressed that mall shows have been attracting a lot of visitors, including those from other GCC countries.
‘There are a lot of customers from Saudi Arabia and they like these kinds of shows in the mall, they keep coming back and it helps us in terms of sales and footfall,’ Mukadam explained.
He said one of the winners of the recently held Qatar Summer Festival (shopping promotions) was from Saudi Arabia, a proof that they regularly visit the country.
The mall official expects the number of mallgoers and visitors to further increase in the coming days since a lot of people will be coming back from their vacation.
Dar Al Salam wants to provide mallgoers a variety of events and activities such as family entertainment shows, according to Mukadam.
‘First we had ‘The Little Prince,’ which was a show from Canada and then we had ‘Bob The Builder,’ a completely different show,’ he added. ‘Then, we had ‘Sleeping Beauty, and now we have ‘Beauty and the Beast.’
Besides free entry and special seats for children close to the stage, organisers have also given them photo opportunities with artistes right after each show.
Performers like the Fritters, B-Boys and the young tots’ popular characters, the Shopkins rotate among participating malls every day to entertain visitors.
Each participating mall this Eid will continue hosting exclusive family entertainment shows until September 18 from 4pm to 9.30 pm. These include Tarzan (City Center Doha), Flying Super Kids (Al Khor Mall), Alvin and the Chipmunks (Ezdan Mall), Pirates from the Caribbean (Lagoona Mall) and Sinbad the Sailor (performed in Arabic at Hyatt Plaza).
